KARACHI: Rangers and police in a joint operation killed Qari Bilal, a leader of Banned outfit in Manghopir area, said sources.

Sources told that Qari Bilal was involved in the murder of Parveen Rehman, a social worker shot dead the previous day in Karachi.

DIG West Javed Odho told media that, alleged terrorist was local commander of Sher Khan Mehsood group, who were involved in several terrorist attacks.

The targeted operation led by Rangers personnel took place in Karachi’s Korangi industrial area’s Mehran Town locality, during which 26 suspected militants, including three activists of proscribed outfits were taken into custody.

The Pakistani Taliban have also increased attacks in recent months, leading to fears they could disrupt the election scheduled to take place by mid-May.

KARACHI:A commander of the banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Qari Bilal was killed in a shootout with security forces on Thursday in Karachi’s Manghopir area, DawnNews reported.

Qari Bilal was involved in the murder of Parveen Rehman, a social worker who was gunned down in Karachi on Wednesday, according to DIG West Javed Odho.

A targeted operation led by Rangers personnel took place in Karachi’s Korangi industrial area’s Mehran Town locality, during which 26 suspected militants, including three activists of proscribed outfits were taken into custody.

Rangers sieged Mehran Town at 4:00 in the morning and blocked its entry and exit points. They refused to let people enter the area and also imposed restrictions on anyone leaving.

Later, they conducted house-to-house searches in the locality.

Sources said several suspects, including some from banned groups, were detained during the operation. Moreover, caches of weapons were recovered during the raids.

Over 1,000 Rangers were involved in the operation.

Good job Rangers...

THere has been a visible increase in Rangers ops in troubled areas of Karachi since the last week or so.

Well done!

If weapons found than they should execute the terrorists instead of detaining, no need to waste time & resources for prosecution. Only suspects should be given chance of trail.

I was going to ask the same question why the 26 suspected militants, including three activists of (proscribed:raise:LEJ) outfits were taken into custody and not just shot and killed.

Probably they don't want that people start saying that Punjabi Army is doing genocide. Ask govt. to pass order of shoot at sight - they will surely oblige.

More of these eliminated from Pakistan, the better Pakistan will be.

Can't wait for peace and tourism in the country. *Dreams*

This would bring Army under bashing by 'Human Rights' groups. I fail to understand why are the miscreants eligible for Human rights? Ironic, isn't it?

To disappoint you, these sentiments are held by some people.

All of these Jeehades should be taken out in targetted ops without trial.
Why was malik ishaq spared a bullet to his head?

but yes there were some issues before during jinnahpur and you should take them seriously

Karachi need such operations. No place for terrorists in Karachi. Also govt need to spend more for security of Karachi & install cctv cameras everywhere.
