Bangladesh shows 'remarkable progress' against hunger since 2015

1 Pakistani=10 Hindu equation is obsolete. They have nuclear warhead now. They have created an effective nuclear deterrence against India.

Pakistan would be included in BRICS. we have been supporting Pakistan as an Islamic nuclear deterrence. more Pakistan is with China, away from US-west, more it is in favour of India.
Pakistan with Chinese arms, build up, will finally help this part of world ...

. .
What is Islamic nuclear deterrence?

i just said, it doesn't mean anything.....
Pakistan is the only nuclear warhead country in Islamic countries. only Islamic state with nuclear weapons...
virtually, nuclear weapons are just to say, it doesn't mean anything. India recognise Pakistani nuclear state as responsible as India. nuclear holding by Pakistan is recognised by India, as two responsible countries.

Bangladesh ranked 81st out of the 125 countries in Global Hunger Index 2023

Bangladesh has shown "remarkable progress" since 2015 in combating hunger riding on the declining trend of undernourishment, child stunting, child mortality and child wasting, according to the Global Hunger Index (GHI) 2023.

Bangladesh ranked 81st out of the 125 countries in the 2023 edition of the index, released on 12 October, positioned above its neighbours Pakistan (102nd), India (111th), and Afghanistan (114th) in reducing hunger.

The report highlighted, "Despite the challenges facing the world and the stagnation in hunger levels at the global level in recent years, some countries—including Bangladesh, Chad, Djibouti, Lao PDR, Mozambique, Nepal, and Timor-Leste—have shown remarkable progress since 2015."

This year, Bangladesh's hunger level has been categorised as "moderate", as it achieved a GHI score of 19.0 points out of a 100-point severity of hunger scale.

Bangladesh had been categorised in the "serious" level of hunger in 2015, scoring 26.2.

This is the eighteenth annual publication of the GHI, jointly published by Concern Worldwide and Welthungerhilfe, to track the state of hunger worldwide and country by country and spotlights those regions and countries where action to address hunger is most urgently needed.

Based on the data from 2018-2022 of the four indicators – undernourishment, child stunting, child wasting, and child mortality – a GHI score is calculated on a 100-point scale reflecting the severity of hunger, where 0 is the best possible score (no hunger) and 100 is the worst.

The index defines undernourishment as the share of the population with insufficient caloric intake; child stunting as the share of children aged under-five who have low height for their age; child wasting as the share of children aged under-five who have low weight for their height; and child mortality as the share of children who die before their fifth birthday.

Each country's GHI score is classified by five severity levels – low (9.9 or less), moderate (10.0-19.9), serious (20.0-34.9), alarming (35.0-49.9) and extremely alarming (50-100).

The report also mentioned that the results within this 2023 Global Hunger Index report supersede all previous GHI results. The 2000, 2008, and 2015 scores and indicator data contained within this report are currently the only data that can be used for valid comparisons of the GHI over time.

Bangladesh ahead of India, Pakistan
The index includes six South Asian countries where Sri Lanka (60th) tops the ranking, followed by Nepal (69th) and Bangladesh.

These three countries are in South Asia to be placed in the "moderate" severity level.

Afghanistan (114th), India (111th) and Pakistan (102nd) are the bottom three countries in South Asia. These countries' hunger levels are categorised as "serious".

There are 50 countries that have "low" levels of hunger, including Belarus, China, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

Meanwhile, nine countries in this year's report are experiencing "alarming" levels of hunger. They are: Burundi, Central Africa Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Madagascar, Niger, South Sudan, Somalia, and Yemen.

"Today's report spells out the scale of the impact which multiple crises – including the fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine conflict and climate disasters – are having on some of the world's poorest people," said David Regan, chief executive of Concern Worldwide, one of the report's co-authors.

I wonder why someone should print this idiotic news to be posted by another. What is news when the GoB regularly claims that it is only a few years to reach to the status of highly developed country, 2041 precisely only 18 yrs from now.

Sarcasm aside, only yesterday I read news about the level of investment in the Sk. Mujib Shilpa Nagar. Very high if not faked by Hasina.’

Huge employment will be created there and in other such industrial belts. Hoping for the best.

If Bangladesh goes nuclear, I hope, the Indians will accept a nuclear Bangladesh the same way they have accepted a nuclear Pakistan.

Pakistan didn't signed NPT similar to India
and, most importantly, Pakistan could live with sanctions after tests, which BD is hard to face...

No signing of NPT does not mean Pakistan can proliferate nuclear testing s without being slapped with new sanctions.

Why a poor country Pakistan should have nuclear bombs? Rather, it should use money to develop agriculture and consumer-related industries.

Do you want to cut nuclear bombs into many pieces and eat them to fill your stomach? Not that tasty.

honestly, I find Bangladesh similar to Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Burma type countries, .... i would say that the industrialisation of Bangladesh will help it match Vietnam and exceed it....
while Pakistan is a power politics similar to Turkey, Iran, Indonesia, Egypt etc.
Pakistan as current, has to be a powerful country, somewhere in between Turkey to Indonesia.
Pakistan is a middle order country like India, Philippines, Indonesia. Pakistan is little laggard than newly industrialized countries but its fate is to finally join the NICs, :pakistan:

Why a poor country Pakistan should have nuclear bombs?

1. Pakistan is sorrounded by hostile neighbours. Iran, India and Afghanistan all have territorial disputes with it. India even dismembered it once.
2. Pak has great power aspirations- an aspiration which it inherits as a successor state of the erstwhile Mughal Empire and Delhi Sultanate.
3. As a Citadel of Islam, it has a responsibility of security for the Ummah,

Regards

Nuclear holding of Pakistan, as a non-NPT signatory, is recognised by India also.
It was statement by Mr Kalam, then Indian president, that because of nuclear weapons war didn't occur between India-Pakistan military stand off in 2002

Iran, North Korea and Israel first signed NPT and then deceived. while Pakistan, the 7th ranked non-NPT signatory never deceived :pakistan:
it has been issue that If China has nuclear weapons then 6th ranked India did test in 1974, and if India has nuclear then this how the things happened with Pakistan......

Bangladesh has a bigger economy than Pakistan so more capable in tackling Western sanctions.

there is a difference between economies of India-Philippines-Pakistan (with China also) and Vietnam-Bangladesh-China. here we have list on the basis of PPP, Bangladesh is listed with Pakistan at 24, 25.
here, i would say, Bangladesh is maximum this and Pakistan is no less than this level. :-)
Pakistan is sized in between Turkey to Indonesia, fall in between. and Pakistan has foundation to match with NICs like Philippines-India, with expectations to exceed Turkey, close to Indonesia.
while Bangladesh is on the path of Vietnam, means export driven economy, which India-Philippines didn't let it happen. with help of India-China, in future Bangladesh may exceed Vietnam and match Singapore but its hard to match with Philippines, Turkey, Indonesia whcih Pakistan can do....

something, BD is Vietnam to Singapore, while India-Pakistan are Philippines, Indonesia, and China also.

Tell me what industrial or technology goods Pakistan can produce. Pakistan is a country that borrows dollars in two hands, it’s leaders steal a part and the remaining to import consumer goods.

Our Hasina thought it is the best way to be called BD a developed country by others. Pakistan already failed and BD will shortly follow.

Do not brag about Pakistan.?It is a non- country avoided by all other countries. Even Chinese have lost illusion about Pakistan. The port it built in Baluchistan will remain inactive without further Chinese investment.

But, why Pakistan cannot invest it’s own capital? Not that easy for world famous Taliban country.

What are you trying to say? If we have China with us, nobody can bully Bangladesh through sanctions.
