Countries been laying down tracks for last 150 years or more. And in those days people didn't have software modeling tools, so what we consider very mundane track work now was quite challenging in those days.

It is an utter shame not being able to lay down broad gauge tracks.

Learning quran hafeez is not bacwards. Taking care of poor and orphaned children is not backwards. Drinking animal discharge is bacwards. Roaming around naked in public sphere is backward and detrimental for the society too.

In the west people learn history, learn western philosophy, learn many other subjects has little practical application in everyday life. But its teached regardless because thats how you mold children and young people into a civillizational identity.

Thats is not backwards, its an investment.

Most madrassah teach science and math and many other subjects these days. It all depends on the teachers. Unfortunately some teachers have a kawarij leaning and they should be kicked out.

Madrassah will always stay as a core part of Islamic culture. It will change and adapt like it always have done for a millenia.

Secular education is OK, but not a magic formula. There are serious drawbacks with pure secular education. One could go ever further and say secular education without the spiritual element, is beginning of death of a nation.
