The government on Sunday summoned Pakistan High Commissioner to Bangladesh Suja Alam for his country’s remarks over Bangladesh war criminals’ execution, said a foreign ministry official, reports news agency UNB.
The official who spoke on condition of anonymity did not elaborate.
Protesting Pakistan’s statement over the execution of BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojahid, the government, earlier, said Pakistan has no moral right to nose into Bangladesh’s internal affairs.
“Pakistan has no moral right to give any opinion on our internal affairs,” state minister for foreign affairs M Shahriar Alam told UNB over phone.
He said the government will take ‘necessary steps’ by tomorrow (Monday) through the diplomatic channel.
Earlier, Pakistan’s foreign affairs ministry reacted over war criminals and BNP leader Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Ali Ahsan Muhammad Mojaheed’s execution.
“Pakistan is deeply disturbed at this development,” said the spokesperson of the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement on the execution.
The spokesperson said they have noted with deep concern and anguish the ‘unfortunate executions’ of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Ali Ahsan Mojaheed.
“As emphasised earlier, we’ve also been noting the reaction of the international community on the flawed trials in Bangladesh related to events of 1971,” the statement reads.
It said there is a need for reconciliation in Bangladesh in accordance with the spirit of Bangladesh, India and Pakistan Agreement of 9th April 1974.
“The Agreement calls for a forward looking approach in matters relating to 1971. This would foster goodwill and harmony,” the, statement mentioned.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is deeply disturbed by the executions this morning of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party leader and Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general who were both charged with 1971 war crimes, the Foreign Office said.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury and Jamaat-e-Islami secretary general Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid were "hanged together, at the same time" at 12:55 am (local time) at Dhaka Central Jail in the nation's capital, Senior Jail Superintendent Mohammad Jahangir Kabir told The Associated Press.
Chowdhury had been convicted on of charges of torture, rape and genocide during the country's independence war, while Mujahid was found guilty on charges of genocide, conspiracy in killing intellectuals, torture and abduction.
"We have noted with deep concern and anguish the unfortunate executions of the Bangladesh National Party Leader, Mr. Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury and Mr Ali Ahsan Mujahid," Foreign Office Spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said in a statement.
The spokesman said Pakistan also took notice of the international community's reaction to the flawed trials in Bangladesh related to the events of 1971.
Jamaat-e-Islami and the Bangladesh Nationalist Party say the trials were politically motivated. Bangaldeshi Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has denied the allegations, but acknowledged that she faced international pressure for trying opposition figures for war crimes,
Human Rights Watch said the tribunal allowed the prosecution to call 41 witnesses, while Chowdhury's defense was limited to four witnesses. The New York-based group said Mujahid was sentenced to death for instigating his subordinates to commit abuses, although no subordinates testified or were identified.
Khalilullah said there is a need for reconciliation in Bangladesh in accordance with the spirit of the Bangladesh, India, Pakistan Agreement of April 9, 1974, which he said calls for a forward-looking approach in matters relating to 1971.
The spokesman addressed hope that such an action would foster goodwill and harmony.

Our growth is at 4.5 only because of terrorism,corruption,immigration/refugees and crime in Karachi. We lost up to 63 billion dollars alone to war on terrorism. But Pakistan now only sees a bright future, terrorism is near dead; the only Taliban presence is in Shawal valley which is being bombarded and taken as we speak, corruption is being tackled by the Army and the rangers and have significantly dropped, immigrants are being sent back to Afghanistan and i pray the same will happen to Bangladeshi immigrants who are now about to gain majority status in most of Karachi, and thanks to the rangers - crime in Karachi has been halved and is continued to be tackled.
Not to mention that Pakistan is going to be in the center of a new global trade route once CPEC is done along with billions of dollars being poured into ambitious projects in Pakistan. Everything has dramatically improved, Pakistan has had a much higher GDP per Capita than India for three decades up until "war on terrorism". Pakistan is the only country in the region and probably Asia to have never experinced negative growth. Once everything gets back on track again, we'll leave both India and Bangladesh FAAR behind.
