DAWN.COM | World | Bangladesh arrests Pakistan militant suspect

DHAKA: Bangladesh has arrested a suspected Pakistani militant and four of its own nationals who planned to carry out attacks in the country, a spokesman for the elite force that made the arrests said on Sunday.
Commander Mohammad Sohel of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) said the five, aged between 26 and 30, were members of Jaish-e-Mohammad, a Pakistan-based militant group blamed for terrorist attacks in India.

“They were picked up from a market in the capital Dhaka. The Pakistani citizen and four Bangladeshis have admitted of being the members of Jaish-e-Mohammad and they were planning attacks in the country,” he said.

One of the four Bangladeshis has served ten years in prison in India, he added.

In November three Pakistani men were arrested in Dhaka on suspicion of plotting to attack US and Indian targets in the Bangladeshi capital.

It is the time Pakistan must realize and join hands with India and Bangladesh to eliminate terrorist organization before they do more harm.

We must learn from 26/11, pune blast and the terrorist attacks happening on daily basis in Pakistan, where innocent Pakistani people are getting killed.

Five operatives of Pakistan-based militant organisation Jaish-e-Mohammad have been arrested from different parts of the country, a Rab official said on Sunday.

Of the five, one is a Pakistani national while the remaining four are Bangladeshi citizens, Rab Assistant Director (media wing) Mohammad Kamaruzzaman told The Daily Star.

Rab is scheduled to divulge the details at a press briefing billed for 3:00pm Sunday at its headquarters in the capital.

Sorry to say but few years ago BD peoples used to like Pakistan. But now I have seen many people in BD who liked Pakistan but now dislike. I thought it may be due to AL’s false propaganda about Pakistan. But now it seems to me that there are some obvious reasons (arrest of Pakistanis as suspected terrorist in BD) to dislike Pakistan. My uncle used to like Pakistan but now he dislikes Pakistan and thinks Pakistanis are terrorists. So now God knows how Pakistan will retrieve its previous good impression in BD and in the world again and soon.

PS:
This is my new account. My previous account was “brotherbangladesh” which was closed permanently.

LikeMind..than your uncle need to learn the definition of a terrorist.

as if pakistan and pakistanis care about what bengladeshis think lol

if bangladesh makes good friendship with pakistan, it has its own gain. hasina is just trying to divide bangladesh, RAW is infiltrating as a bharti pointed out "weak border security", and are creating troubles for the army and public too.

.
No, Pakistan will loose its opportunity if she could not retrieve her reputation.

BTW, few Pakistani and Bangladeshi people want to rejoin BD and Pak together. But I think for the over population of BD, Pakistan will feel trouble. And I think that there will the same troubles what we'd seen before 71 like discrimination.

I thought there should be a brotherly relation between BD and Pak but now it seems to me that we are very different as most people is supporting AL deception now. And I think AL is deliberately trying to vanish the relation between BD and Pak and irritating Pakistan.

mate every nation should use policy of live and let others live.

If Bangladesh - India relations will Improve you can imagine that where trade will go!!!!!..............our North-East will benefit from Bangladesh so as Bangladesh from India.

Bangladesh has moved too much in this direction and I hope India will respond positively to this types of news.
Once again thanks to Bangladesh from helping in controling terrorism

Kandahar hijacking case: JeM militant arrested in Bangladesh

Top JeM militant Nannu Mia alias Belal Mandol, who claimed to have played a key role in the hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane in 1999 from Kathmandu to Kandahar, has been arrested along with four other militants near the Dhaka College, Bangladeshi officials have said.

Five operatives of the Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed, including its Pakistani coordinator in Bangladesh who was also a recruiter for operations in India, were nabbed here, officials said on Sunday.

Of the five JeM activists, one is a Pakistani national while the remaining four are Bangladeshi citizens, said Mohammad Kamaruzzaman, Assistant Director of the elite Rapid Action Battalion (RAB). The arrest of Belal, who claims to be a native of north Bangladeshi town Shylet, along with Rezwan Ahmed is being considered as a major success by the local authorities.

RAB officials said they had learnt that Nannu was imprisoned in Guwahati for about 10 years, with more than four militancy-related cases pending against him in different courts in India.

However, sources in Delhi said they had no information whether Nannu was involved in the hijacking case. Rezwan, 26, of Karachi, two brothers Imazuddin alias

Munna and Sadek Hossain alias Khoka and Abu Naser Munshi were arrested during the special anti-militancy drive.

God Bless Bangladesh

Indian probe team to Bangladesh for questioning Belal
Tue, Mar 2 06:29 PM

New Delhi, Mar 2 (PTI) A team of security officials will soon leave for Bangladesh to question a top Jaish-e-Mohammed militant accused of carrying out several blasts ,including those in Bangalore and Surat in 2008, besides claiming to be involved in hijacking of an Indian Airlines plane to Kandahar. Top government sources said the team would question Nannu Mia alias Belal Mandol, who was arrested on February 28 along with four operatives of the Pakistan-based militant group JeM. These included its Pakistani coordinator in Bangladesh who was also a recruiter for operations in India.

Though Belal had claimed to have played a key role in the hijacking of the Indian Airlines plane to Kandahar in 1999, sources here said it is yet to be ascertained. He is, however, wanted in Bangalore and Surat blasts in 2008 which had shocked the country and the security set up.

Sources said India hoped that Bangladesh will hand over Belal after the authorities there finish their investigations. Belal, who claims to be a native of north Bangladeshi town Shylet, has an Indian wife hailing from West Bengal, the sources said.

Belals citizenship is questionable. If he is BD citizen then there is no way he could be handed over to India. But he can be tried here for offence committed in India. But I am not a lawyer.
