A group of hackers claiming to be Bangladeshi defaced the Punjab Assembly website on Sunday and termed the act “payback” for the hacking of some Bangladeshi websites.
“This Is PayBak To Shadow008 For Hacking Our Bangladeshi Sites!” reads the text on the defaced site, which carried the image of a profane hand gesture.
The hackers identified themselves as Cr4ck-Br4iN, RoTating RoTor and Ablaze EVER.
They left a message for the site administrator saying that a Pakistani hacker called Shadow008 was “responsible” for this defacement as he had hacked their country’s websites first.
Threatening more attacks unless the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) catch the said hacker, the hackers said the FIA had previously been unable to apprehend him.
Shadow008 was also accused by these hackers of defacing Google Pakistan.
“Pressurize your law enforcement agency to make this criminal busted and let us live in peace and also let us leave u in peace,” read the message on the website.
The hackers called the above mentioned hacker a “cyber terrorist” and left instructions for the FIA for catching him.
Website defacement has gained popularity with cross-border hackers who seem to consider it a medium expressing their anger or disagreement and for taking revenge.
Pakistani hackers have recently defaced many websites, including 400 Chinese government sites and 30 Israeli sites.
