ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui on Friday linked Zainab murder case to pornography and ‘growing obscenity’ on the internet and remarked cases like Zainab’s will continue unless a ban is imposed, Daily Times has learnt.

While hearing petition against blasphemy on social media, Justice Siddiqui turned up the heat against what he termed was an ‘organised conspiracy’ to promote obscenity and pornography in the country.

He said that no religion allows obscenity, adding that there are some people in the IT industry that are in favour of ‘obscene’ and pornographic material on the internet.

The high court judge also lashed out at ‘obscene content’ on the mainstream media. ‘Women are shown working out in an obscene way in ATV’s show’, he said, adding that morning shows have spread destruction.

He directed the Special Secretary Interior to direct Pakistan Electronic Media and Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to cancel license of the network whose morning show airs objectionable content.

Justice Siddiqui ordered the Additional Attorney General to present his report on sources of obscene material ‘spread’ in the country.

During the hearing, the Secretary Interior presented his report on blasphemous material on the internet. He said the cabinet has approved amendment in laws in regards to cybercrime.

The secretary told the court that the cyber patrolling project has also been approved and that help from the private sector is being sought to block objectionable websites.



He added that anti-cybercrime technology project worth Rs 1 billion has been sent to Central Development Working Party (CDWP).

What an embarrassment he is first the Qadri episode now this he is really ignorant about these issues **** is already banned the biggest problem we face in sexual crimes is the social attitude toward it and our crappy police response to it

" A lookalike of IHC Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, Shakeel was the one who had kissed Mumtaz Qadri when he appeared before an anti-terrorism court in 2011. After Justice Siddiqui was appointed IHC judge, a photograph of Shakeel kissing Qadri was circulated on the social media and portrayed as a Pakistani judge kissing a convicted terrorist.

Advocate Shakeel is also an office-bearer of the Namoos-i-Risalat Forum, which urges lawyers to appear in court to show support for Qadri.

During the hearing, federal government counsel Barrister Jahangir Khan Jadoon demanded that the court take action against a private television channel that had aired programmes against Justice Siddiqui on the basis of the fake photo.

The bench, however, remarked that it was for them to decide what action might be taken.

Justice Siddiqui, who is a member of the bench hearing the case, said that the channel in question had tendered an apology and the issue should not be dragged on."

There should be a complete ban on pornography, pornography is just another way of humiliation and insult of womenhood .
As a woman , I feel ashamed that pornography is being watched by every men which makes me cringe .

Child abuse was there even when there was no internet, and banning internet pornography/obscenity will not prevent cases like Zainab murder case... There is no "organized conspiracy" ... The IHC judge is an idiot .... Pornography should be banned and it's already banned in Pakistan ... However, VPNs should be blocked as well to make pornography ban more effective

I agree in principle to protect general Pakistani public from such filth
on the other hand the foreign gangs that are involved in violent **** business wont be affected by such ban because the consumers of such dark content access it through secret premium paid sites and maybe based outside the country and wont be affected by Pakistani ban

- women dressing provocatively is not the cause of rapes
- watching child **** is not the cause of child rape
- being hungry is not the cause of theft

but we can analyze it philosophically, set up committee of expert to research these issues...maybe we will find that having 44 degree temp in winter is the main cause and blame it on God.
