It's finally here! The Pulsar we've all been eagerly waiting for has just been unveiled. The prices are yet to be announced but as of now we know that the commercial launch will happen sometime around April this year. The engine is based on the 200cc mill from the KTM 200 Duke.
The surprise is that unlike we expected the engine is not aircooled, but is in fact a liquid cooled SOHC number using not two but three spark plugs – Digital Triple Spark ignition they call it, a world’s first.
The engine makes 23.5PS@9500rpm and 18.3Nm@8000rpm, this means lots of low down performance to keep you happy.

Sadly the fuel capacity is only 12 litres. This means that with the claimed fuel economy of 58kmpl (at 55kmph) the bike will have a range of 696km.
Coming to the looks the bike has an all new menacing front end typical of streetfighters with the tank shrouds adding some beefiness. It looks like a Pulsar 135LS overdosed on steroids. The chunky rubber that it sits on only adds to this mean look. Coming as a relief to most of us, the bike finally gets mono-shock suspension at the rear. Doing duty up front is not the upside down units from the KTM but conventional forks. The bike weighs in at 145kg, a bit on the heavy side if you ask us.
We feel that after a long wait of ten years the new Pulsar 200NS has been worth the wait. This bike is sure to start an all new chapter in performance motorcycling in the country. Kudos Bajaj.
