Bahrain Group Visits Israel Amid Arab Furor Over Jerusalem

Bahrain has sent a group of political and religious figures to Israel to demonstrate the Gulf kingdom’s commitment to religious pluralism and its intention to deepen ties with the Jewish state, an Israeli cabinet member said.

The 24-member delegation arrived last week after U.S. President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, a move condemned across the Arab world. Israeli Communications Minister Ayoob Kara, who met the group in Jerusalem and called the timing of their visit coincidental, said Sunday he plans to visit Bahrain in the coming months.

“There will be more surprises in the coming year,” Kara, the only Arab member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s cabinet, said in a telephone interview. “We see great interest among the Gulf states in developing connections with Israel.”

Gulf countries, which do not have diplomatic relations with Israel, have been cultivating unofficial ties, partly because of their shared concern about threats from Iran. Egypt and Jordan are the only Arab countries that have signed peace treaties with Israel.

In sign of gently warming ties, Bahraini delegation visits Israel

A delegation of religious figures from the Gulf kingdom of Bahrain arrived in Israel this week “in order to send a message of peace,” in an extremely rare instance of representatives from an Arab country without diplomatic relations visiting the Jewish state.

The trip seemed to signal a further warming of ties between Israel and Bahrain, which a report earlier this year said are on a path to normalizing diplomatic relations.

JERUSALEM

A delegation from Bahrain has reportedly arrived in Israel on a four-day visit for talks with Israeli officials, days after U.S. President Donald Trump officially recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, according to Israeli media.

The delegation, which was sent upon orders from Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, includes religious figures and met with Israeli officials in Tel Aviv, Israeli Channel Two said.

According to the channel, the Bahraini delegation accompanied by an Israeli foreign ministry delegation visited Jerusalem’s Old City, where the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque compound is located.

No further details were given, but Channel Two said the delegation delivered a “message of peace and brotherhood” to Israel from King Khalifa and Bahrain.

It claimed that the Bahraini delegation reportedly said Jewish synagogues would be restored in Bahrain and that there was no obstacle to visit by Israeli citizens to the Gulf country.

According to the channel, the Bahraini delegation accompanied by an Israeli foreign ministry delegation visited Jerusalem’s Old City, where the flashpoint Al-Aqsa Mosque compound is located.

This group was thrown out of the mosque by Palestinian protestors.

First of all Pakistan has said that it is ready to cut ties with USA if OIC decides secondly Pakistan has not recognized Israel thirdly Turkey is suggesting to cut ties with Israel if the decision is not reversed by USA. Now under UN law the Jerusalem is under status quo and USA cannot recognize and Israel cannot accept US recognition. This is all. About Bahrain it is a small country and with very little effect on Islamic world but what Bahrain tried is wrong and Muslim world has united on the fact of Palestine. This news is hard for me to believe as i still consider this to be western and Israeli propaganda I am still waiting any statement from the Arab media.

Here lies the fear that Bahrain is not small and Saudi Arabia/UAE are also following the same suit, but not openly.
All the Muslim countries under Saudi influence will also follow Saudia on this issue, and not Turkey.

This is Bahrain thread please take off topic discussion some where else. OIC meeting is on 18th of this month we will see the outcome in six days. USA is not that powerful USA also has economic needs and has to trade losing muslim population is not good for Trump he has re-elections coming and let's make America great and America first not Israel first is still there.
