Justice is always skewed even in the richest countries. Many people in the US would hold the Kennedy clan as a glaring example of people beyond the law. There are any number of studies to show how the conviction rates are inversely proportional to the defendant's socioeconomic status.

That is a painfully succinct version of one of the root causes of what ails Pakistan, that I agree with. I have caught a lot of flak for saying that Pakistanis should concentrate on getting their own basics right first rather than dabbling in international power games and feeling the world owes them everything without them meeting their responsibilities in turn.

It just doesn't work that way, but most refuse to see it. However, that is the reality.
