Azerbaijan and Turkey to coproduce rockets | TRDEFENCE

Azerbaijan and Turkey will produce joint rocket for reactive volley-fire systems, a Turkish military delegation told APA.

According to the reports, Azerbaijan’s Defense Industry Ministry and Turkeys ROKETSAN Company have signed an agreement on joint production of 107mm and 122mm rockets. According to the agreement, rockets will be produced in Azerbaijan by assembling parts from Turkey.

Extended-range 107mm rockets designed and manufactured by ROKETSAN have a distinctive airframe / aerodynamic design and reduced smoke composite propellant, and reach up to 50% longer ranges compared to classical 107 mm rockets. Rockets with High Explosive (HE) and Steel Ball (SB) warheads, named as TR-107 and TRB-107, create effective lethality on area targets at ranges well over 11km through their superior dispersion characteristics. Roketsan has type-classified a 122mm caliber extended-range multi-barrel launcher ammunition designated the TR-122. This new unguided rocket extends the 122mm caliber rocket launcher systems range to over 40 kilometers.

Note that, Roketsan Missiles Industries was established in 1988 to lead Turkeys national rocket and missile research and production programs. Roketsans world-class manufacturing centers produce weapons and equipment to NATO standards. ROKETSAN is well known for its extensive family of surface-to-surface rockets, is expanding into air-launched and ground-based anti-tank missiles to meet the requirements of the Turkish Land Forces Command.

It is called TR-122. It is like like that 302mm system but fires 122mm rockets instead. The range is 40km.

Specs

T-122 Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher is an autonomous artillery weapon system used for indirect fire support missions during day and night and in all weather conditions against area targets. ROKETSAN applied the current technology and developed a modern launch vehicle with an advanced fire control computer, modern secure data radio communication and a hydraulically stabilised platform. These modern artillery rocket systems are in the inventory of Turkish Armed Forces and currently they are in serial production. T-122 is capable of firing TR-122, TRB-122, TRK-122 and classical short-range 122 mm type rockets. The NATO stock number of the system is 1055 27 004 6756.

Azerbaijan, Turkey to produce revolver grenade launchers

Azerbaijan and Turkey will realize joint production of 40mm revolver grenade launcher.

Azerbaijan’s Defense Industry Ministry and Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation of Turkey have already reached agreement on it.

Minister of Defense Industry Yaver Jamalov noted that revolver grenade launchers would be produced on the basis of Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation’s technologies. Negotiations are also conducted on production of armament for these grenade launchers.

Azerbaijani side delivered speech on joint production of revolver grenade launchers in May of current year at SOFEX-2010 defense exhibition held in Jordan’s capital.

Director General of the Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation Unal Onsipahioglu confirmed that agreement on joint production of the mentioned weapon had been achieved. Onsipahioglu noted that revolver grenade launchers comprise the inventor of Turkish Armed Forces and are considered for short-distance fights.

‘Currently, transfer of technologies is realized for production of this weapon in Azerbaijan’, he said.

Note that, 40mm revolver grenade launcher is produced at the Chankiri ammunition plant of the Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation of Turkey.

Azerbaijan, Turkey to produce camouflage

Together with Turkish company, Azerbaijan’s Defense Industry Ministry will produce camouflage.

Appropriate agreement has already been signed due to it and works are continued.

‘These nets are used for masking of military equipment and fortification, military assets. They will be produced at ‘Azon’ plant. Raw material will be brought form Turkey and production will be kicked off in the near term’, Defense Industry Minister Yaver Jamalov said.

The name of Turkish company is unknown.

While these systems are wonderful , I think focus for Turkey and Pakistan should be High altitude interceptors for high flying objects

Air-Air , Air to groun missiles


The rockets are cool gadgets to have but modern smart bombs can zoom in and take out 10-15 of these items in one fly by ... so more emphasis is needed on missile and air defences

But this is cool tool to have in army specially if you have transport capability to drop 20-30 of these behind enemy lines
