Ayesha Gulalai gets only one vote at Nowshera polling station but, there’s a twist

NOWSHERA: PTI rebel Ayesha Gulalai who contested from four National Assembly constituencies lost from all the seats, securing just meager number of votes, but a polling station in Nowshera (NA-25) saw just a single vote polled in Gulalai’s favor but, there’s a twist.

According to reports, a polling station set up at the Government Primary School No. 2 in Risalpur recorded just one vote polled by a voter, but it was rejected because the voter had expressed his adoration (in the universally-popular three-word expression, guess yourself!) for Gulalai rather than simply stamping on the ballot paper.

Once the ballot reached the returning officer, it was rejected due to violation of the voting rule, the report added.

The ex-PTI leader filed nomination papers for the NA-25 Nowshera against former chief minister Pervez Khattak, who was contesting on the PTI ticket.

The other constituencies she contested from were NA-53, NA-161 and NA-231. From all four constituencies, she could garner only 3538 votes in total.

In Islamabad’s NA-53 constituency, she secured only 138 votes and joined Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to be defeated by none other than PTI chairman Imran Khan who got 92891 votes.

Gulalai also lost the election in NA-231 (Sujawal, Sindh) and bagged only 827 votes. Similarly, she managed to secure 1614 votes from Lodhran’s NA-161 constituency which was won by PTI candidate Mian Muhammad Shafiq.

While from all the polling stations of NA-25, Mr Khattak bagged 8112 votes while Gulalai received only 959 votes.
