I have heard this ..but unfortunately i dont understand Punjabi...have heard ppl saying, tht its lyrics are very beautiful, and emotional, but i cant understand those... Can anyone of u, plzz do me a favor, by translating it to me..in Urdu? I tried to search this on youtube, with Urdu subtitles, but couldnt find...So would appreciate if anyone could translate it for me... Sorry for bothering though..

Title of the song is: These sons cannot be sold in stores, or in other words, these sons can not be found in stores or bazaar.

Thanks...but i want the translation for the entire song... Bcoz i want to know the meaning of this whole song....have heard ppl praising this song very much...so wanted to know, if anyone here could help me with this....

An interesting fact about this song. Noor Jahan went to a make-shift radio broadcasting station which was close to the front lines and sung this live, so that our soldiers could listen to this. Noor Jahan in her day you know was loved by all... People say that the transmission was heard in India as well.

I'll try and translate it tomorrow, don't know the lyrics to it and can't play the youtube right now.

It is a shame this government is spending its amazing treasure for so cheap fighting for another country that thinks they aren't worth anything. Go to youtube and try searching for shaheed captain or shaheed lieutenant, major... Bloody thankless ally and a thankless world and treacherous government. Such a shame, no value for our military's shaheed. Unacceptable.

Yes, but may be they can be rented pretty cheaply as Asim points out?

Please note that I respect the rank and file soldiers tremendously (but not their leadership).

There are statues and monuments in Bangladesh of their heroes, heck, even a statue of Dr. Abdus Salam. But we fail to recognize our heroes, great television actors, Moin Ahtar comes to mind, Our war heroes, the scientists and alot more. Musharraf did try to do it to some extent, Pakistan monument and all, but now nothing. The annual military parade was a much anticipated event for the country, but now no more.

isnt it a bigger shame that the soldiers who are supposed or i say, meant to orgiven the job to protect the civilians cant protect them from being murdered, its amazing how the civilian death is treated like a terrorist, while the same army who has failed and let others killour true shohadas have become some fake martyrs, how many civilians have been killed because pakistan army stands still watching the brutality, what goes around comes around, i must say

no respect without true dignity

So, you want to blame the sepoy and lance naik on the gate of GHQ or Lahore cantt for the failures of a select few people?

I can translate the song, but I dont think that any translation will do justice to actual lyrics.

I think it wasn't the case when Madam sung this tune.

I take it upon myself to disrespect the leadership for its kartootain :)

@Vcheng and Darkinsky

This thread was not at all meant to again start the blame game against Army.. Infact it was just the opposite.... I absolutely love old Pak army songs, which appreciate and honor the sacrifices of our martyrs...and hence, i wanted to know, if someone could help with translation of this song....so plzz dont start blame game against army...atleast.in this thread

You seem to be mistaking faults of the leadership with the faults of the soldier.

The soldier has fought and won many wars, including internal wars like the liberation of Swat and FATA regions. The terrorism you see on the streets is the responsibility of civilian authorities like FIA and local police. In the US the FBI is busy foiling plots, not the US military.

The soldier has done his job, shed his blood, saved Pakistanis from disasters. The failure of leadership has been to not defend its soldiers to not defend its skies against incoming drones, but then there is a chain of command there too - they report to the civilian leaders whether its a weak one or a real one - that is up for debate, legally speaking they are covered. It ultimately boils down to the civilian leadership. Which fails to govern, fails to give the right orders and fails to implement law n order that would prevent loss of lives.

The institutions of Pakistan Army, the Air Force and the Navy deserve our respect and our love.
