The Foreign Affairs Minister, Bob Carr, has defended India's nuclear non-proliferation record as Australian officials prepare to start talks on safeguards that will allow the export of uranium to the country. Senator Carr was due to meet on Monday night with the Indian External Affairs Minister, Salman Khurshid, in Delhi to agree on a timetable for the talks, which will set down rules to ensure the uranium cannot be used by India for nuclear weapons. The potential exports follow Labor's reversal in 2011 of its long-held stance against uranium sales to the country, which has not signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

. . . . . . . .
Well as long as they earn millions by selling Uranium and build strategic relation with India in Asia Pacific, they will support us everywhere. And India needs more cooperation with countries like Australia which can provide us this rare source of energy and considering recent find of oil in Australia, it will be beneficial for us. Also, huge influx of Indians in Australia especially Indian students is beneficial as they will get benefit of more trained professionals so that they can grow more.

Both nations wants to focus on economic growth and here we have to cooperate with them.

Its just matter of our and their national interests.
