Why is Australia blocking the free market? Let the business decide what is good for them.

So I have no problem with them blocking this deal as long as ALL countries are banned from investing in Australia's electricity grid.

Australian economy is already hurting because China is not buying as many iron ore and coal as before.

Australia has only natural resources to provide China.

If China wants a big market, Australia don't have it.

If China wants technology it doesn't have, then America or Europe can provide it.

Australia is not a big investor like America or Europe.

natural resources' price going down day after day,it's buyer market right now, China should block made in Aus to China mainland market. all of the world = happy to sell natural resources to China.

That nonsense. I want to remind you our country is using foreign nuclear supplier. As a matter of fact, half of our country nuclear reactor to be built in the future will be from foreign countries like the France, Russia, and US. So this threat on national security is groundless and baseless. If we do get into a war, we don't need to use the US dirty tactic to suppress a country power. Anyhow if they play their national security card, be advice we will do the same.

IMO China haven't played the national security card enough to protect Chinese industries.

Nuclear reactor is a good example. Who is China's dominant foreign supplier of nuclear reactor of latest/third-generation? It's PWR design AP1000 from Westinghouse. Who owns Westinghouse? It's Toshiba. Who owns Toshiba? It's Mitsui. What is Mitsui? One of the six giant keiretsu that dictate Japan's domestic economy as well as massive global assets. Other than Toshiba & Westinghouse, also owns many nuclear-related business like JFE steel (world's dominant provider of nuclear reactor steelworks), uranium investments in Canada, Kazakhstan. Was China govt ignorant about Mitsui's background so that they didn't "block" such strategic-level co-operation? Was Dengxiaoping ignorant of who is Mitsui, when he personally invited Nippon Steel to build China's largest and most advanced Shanghai Baoshan Steel?

The Australian shouldn't be so paranoid about Chinese investments, strictly business. Free trade, free investments!
