Yesterday, the rangers handed over Khan to the police, who presented him at ATC-2 today. The police contended that Khan confessed before a Joint Investigation Team that he was in charge of the Khursheed Memorial Hall area at nine-zero, adding that he was sheltering the people suspects there.
The Azizabad police had registered a First Information Report (FIR) on rangers' complaint. After both sides presented their arguments in today's hearing, the court handed over Khan to the police.
A large number of supporters and some Rabita Committee members were present on court premises and sloganeered.
Meanwhile, rangers released majority of the suspects that were initially kept for 90 days on preventive detention.
