Asian Games: Taiwan not allowed to flutter flag after winning Gold?

I just read that Taiwan which is forced to participate as "Chinese Taipei" by China was not allowed to fly its flag or have its anthem sung after it won the gold in a tennis event. Is this true? If yes, do people here think it is fair?
