Flag-raising ceremony held to mark anniversary of ASEAN

A flag-raising ceremony is held at the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Putrajaya, administrative center of the Malaysian Federal Government, on Aug. 10, 2009. The flag-raising ceremony was held here on Monday to mark the 42nd anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Aug. 8, 2009. [Xinhua]

I never realized ASEAN was 42 years old, always thought it was younger than EU. Well I guess it makes sense since Asians have been united for much longer and have much love for each other!
