But why not then disqualify someone on the basis of corruption or a crime rather than not being 'sadiq' or 'ameen'?

Isn't being corrupt enough of a crime?

When you hold a important post such as a PM being a lier is also a crime. Honesty matters a lot where you are in the position to influence interests of public or country at large.
Our Constitution and laws are perfect only if we follow it properly.
