KARACHI (Dunya News) – Arrested Vice Chairman of Fishermen Cooperative Society has admitted to giving extortionmoney to Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and Lyari gang on Friday. Rangers has caught 15 extortionists in the city, reported Dunya News.
Sultan Qamar has admitted that 10% of the extortion sum went to BLA while another 10% went to operatives of Lyari gang.
Sultan Malik also said that he used to keep 10% of the profit from fish market for himself as well adding that the extortionmoney used to be collected by a group of 13 people.
Spokesperson Rangers said that Rangers had conducted raids on Mai Kolachi, Khawaja Ajmer Nagri and Faqeer Colony and arrested 15 extortionists.
In another development, a local court in Karachi has ordered physical remand of Mumtaz Zardari, a front-man of a prominent personality in Sindh, for 14 days.
Sindh bureaucracy is in jitters after crackdown on corruption mafia. Secretary Education, Trading and Industry and Labour Ministry have taken leave of absence.
