Mullah Tamanche’s hideouts shelled, five terrorists killed
BARA: Five militants were killed on Sunday when the army’s gunship helicopters shelled their hideouts in various areas of Bara Tehsil in Khyber Agency, official sources said.
The shelling by gunship choppers came in response to Saturday’s attack on security escort of anti-polio teams in the Lashora area of Jamrud Tehsil in which 13 people lost their lives.
The sources said two gunship helicopters targeted the hideouts of the militants in Arjaleen Adey, Nala and Mandikas areas of Bara in the morning and killed five militants associated with the militant group headed by Tamanche Mullah, who belongs to Landikotal in Khyber Agency and has links with other militant groups.
They said Tamanche Mullah and his associates were responsible for the killing of 13 persons, including 12 Khassadars and Levies personnel, who were attacked with roadside bomb blasts in the Lashora area of Jamrud Tehsil on Saturday.
Official sources said a few hideouts of the militants were also destroyed in the shelling.Local sources said two militants were killed and two civilians, including a woman, were injured in the shelling by the gunship helicopters in Nala and Mandikas areas of Bara.
