SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Pakistan Army will stay in Waziristan till complete peace is restored, said Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani on Thursday.
According to a Radio Pakistan report, Kayani said “the army is engaged in the area to bring peace and provide protection to the people so that they could live peacefully.”
Kayani was speaking during the inauguration ceremony of 50-kilometre-long road from Wana to Angoor Aadda.
The army chief further said that due to the efforts of the army, the operation against terrorists was completed in a month.
He went on to appeal to the people of the area – who migrated because of the military action – to return to their homes and resume their life.
General Kayani added that the government was working on a plan to ensure development of the area by providing civic amenities to the people and construction of roads to link the area with the rest of the country.
Trade corridor
The Pakistan Army completed the third trade corridor on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in South Waziristan Agency to improve the communication network and facilitate the people.
The road from Wana to Angoor Adda was completed at a cost of about $40 million dollars with the financial assistance of UAE.
Kayani along with UAE ambassador in Pakistan inaugurated this facility today.

Peace is already restored in wazir area of south waziristan while Mehsud territory is nearly empty but you can call it peaceful.
The problem is in north waziristan which is home to TTP and other groups, army there gets attacked by TTP and army has to enforce one curfew after another. Because of haqqani network pak army is refusing operation there and has let it hub of militants.

WANA: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani, said on Thursday during the inaugration of the Sheikh Zaid bin Sultan Nahyan road, that the fate of the people of South Waziristan would change and construction and development projects would soon be initiated in the tribal region bordering Afghanistan, DawnNews reported.

Gen Kayani was on a visit of the South Waziristan tribal region along with other senior military officials to inaugrate the Sheikh Bin Sultan Nahyan road which would serve as the third trade corridor between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

On the occasion, the army chief was briefed about the prevailing law and order situation in the region.

Kayani said that the local residents had played a vital role for the restoration of peace in the region.

He added that the people were supporting the military and that an operation in South Waziristan was completed withing four days.

He further said that constructions of roads, water canals and irrigation systems in were underway.

Morover, General Ashfaq Kayani said that the displaced persons would be called back and rehabilitated.

i say we kill e around 20-30 thousand of them and then rehabilitate the rest. they deserve to pay for the damage they did with their lives.

ISI itself is grooming its own packs of suicide bombers, has its own pet taliban....who do you think opened thousands of madrassas in pashtun belt to prepare them for jihad and extremism?. i been to pakistan about a year an half ago, and no i never went to kpk i have cousins who are half pathans with family in mardan and peshawar and when their relatives come to our city non of them hold to ill towards our army its some thing just unique to you. im starting to think your a afghan refugee tbh not a pakistani pathan.
