Pakistan Army is determined to construct the gate. This kind of attitude is needed in all matters from all in power in Pakistan that when U decide to do something, get it done come what may.

TORKHAM: Pakistan Army continued with the construction of a gate at Torkham border Thursday while Afghanistan government has assured of not interfering after four days of unprovoked firing.

Curfew that was imposed earlier this week in Landi Kotal market and surrounding areas to protect civilians from shelling is maintaining today. However, long queues of vehicles are there on both the sides as movement came to a grind halt amidst tension.

Thousands of people cross Pakistan-Afghanistan border everyday for different purposes including trade. However, relatively unchecked cross-border movement between the two neighbours benefits extremist outfits which is why army, first, started fencing the border earlier this year which was opposed by Afghanistan and now construction of gate became another issue.

Reportedly, Afghanistan forces have vowed to not open unprovoked fire for unhindered construction of a gate that is around 37 metres inside Pakistan’s territory.

An army major named Ali Jawad Changezi lost his life in hospital after he was shifted there for treatment of injuries that he sustained in Afghan shelling.

Two security personnel were injured on Wednesday taking the tally to over 15.

PA had to face so much fuss first on Angoor Ada and then on Torkham but still pulled the feat and we aint giving any credit for that but asking for other 233 crossings? This was suppose to be done by Political leadership but their inability to pull the strings made PA took matters into hand and here we go once again, we are bashing PA for something they were not suppose to do. History repeats itself.

It is not possible in so high mountainous region.
But all to blame is Pakistan govt, they have done nothing so far and they are still doing nothing to control the movements. The only Afghan govt which didn't create issue on this border was from 1996-2001.

I was not intended to bash PA. They are excellent in doing their job. I respect that. Hoped more gates will be constructed.

Pakistani govt, specially politicians seem least interested in solving problems. Pakistani govts were always lacking making long term policies. This issue could be solved long ago with different measures.
Pakistan has more than double of Pahstun population than Afghanistan. Claims of area by Afghan govt could be replied with counter claims of Pashtun areas for Pakistan. (Just to counter claims,no violence, to spread psychological waves ).

In 2001, when Taliban were retreating after US areal attacks, many Afghan villages near border waved Pakistani flags on houses. They just didn't want to live under Northern alliance.
But what to say about Pakistan govt :(, you already know how things works over there.
