Arms cache seized from Jamil Bugti, Humayun Marri

QUETTA: Police officials, supported by Frontier Corps(FC)on Saturday claimed finding a large number of arms and ammunition during raids at the residences of Jamil Akbar Bugti, the eldest surviving son of Nawab Akbar Bugti, and former chief minister Humayun Marri in Bugti Boldak in Quetta suburbs.
According to security sources, 133 remote control devices, 4,000 rounds, 100 12-bore rifles, two light machineguns, three hand grenades and 3,000 rounds were seized during the search at the residence of Humayun Marri, former caretaker chief minister and son in-law of former Balochistan chief minister Nawab Bugti.
The arms and ammunition were hidden in secret cavities inside the house, official sources claimed.
However, no senior official came forward to address the media about this operation, creating doubts about the authenticity of the seizure.
Talking to media outside his residence after the incident, Jamil Akbar Bugti said police and security personnel used excessive force and flagrantly violated the sanctity of his home.
The recovery of arms and ammunition is a pathetic set-up, he said while addressing journalists.
The raid is meant to pressurise me my case against a dictator who ruled this country for far too long is still pending before the Balochistan High Court, he said, referring to former president Pervez Musharraf who is the principal accused in Bugti murder case.
