Arms, ammunition recovered from Shahzain’s house

QUETTA: Huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered on Wednesday when security forces raided residence of Jamhoori Wattan Party (JWP) leader, Shahzain Bugti, in Quetta, Samaa reported.

Shahzain is son of Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti and grandson of slain Akbar Khan Bugti. He is chief of Balochistan chapter of JWP’s Talal faction.

Officials said the security forces conducted raid on the house of Bugti located on New Al-Gilani road in Quetta and recovered illegal weapons and ammunition, including rockets, detonators, remote-controlled bomb devices and explosive material.

Sources said the arms and ammunition were concealed inside a water tank of the house.

In December 2010, Shahzain and his 26 security guards were arrested by Frontier Corps near Quetta. The troops recovered a huge quantity of illegal arms and ammunition, including anti-aircraft guns, from one of the vehicles of his convoy.

QUETTA: Security forces personnel conducted a raid at the residence of Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) leader Nawabzada Shahzain Bugti Wednesday and recovered huge quantity of arms and ammunition, a security official said.

A security agency official, who requested anonymity, told that Dawn Frontier Corps and personnel of anti-terrorist force foiled a major bid of terrorism during a joint raid.

He said 800 hand grenades, 200 kilograms of explosives, 13 RPG launchers, electric detonators, etc were seized during the raid that was carried out at Shahzain's residence on Quetta's Al Gailani road.

The security forces' claim was strongly contradicted by sources close to Shahzain.

They termed it a baseless claim of forces and an effort to silence Shahzain Bugti for what they called his struggle for Baloch people.

No arrest was made during the raid.

Bugti is a grandson of late Nawab Akbar Bugti who was assassinated in 2006.

The interior ministry had placed his name at the ECL to restrict his movement in 2010 after he was arrested on December 22, 2010.

Haha loll... So true.......But on a serious note... I do genuinely feel bad for Gen Zaheer ... Poor guy gets blamed for almost anything tht happens in Pak these days... And tht too...when during his tenure, terrorism has reduced greatly, in the last 3 months, esp after zarbe azb..not finished though..
Even Talat hussain, who used to be one of the more sensible fellows on media..said this on twitter:

I hear Gen Zaheer is proceeding for Hajj. If true, it will be a time well spot on introspection

I mean how shallow can one get? As if everyone else is an angel..........although I dont believe this Hajj story to be true coz he is retiring in November and Hajj would be long gone then..its in oct...but still how low of media men to stoop to this level?

DG isi is truly a thankless job, i say.. even Gen pasha, before retirement...was defamed a lot by our own media and politicians...exactly like Gen Zaheer..... Lets see... Whats in store for our new ISI chief, in the future
