Armed forces celebrate 66th Independence Day

KARACHI - A smartly turned contingent of cadets from the Pakistan Naval Academy on Tuesday took over guard duties at the mausoleum of father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to pay homage to the great leader on the 66th Independence Day of Pakistan.
The change of guard ceremony was held at the Mazar-e-Quaid on the occasion of Independence Day of Pakistan.


Chief guest of the ceremony, Commandant Pakistan Navy, Commodore Zahid Illyas, inspected the guard of honour and laid a floral wreath and offered fateha at the Mazar-e-Quaid.
In his impressions marked in the visitors’s book, Commodore Zahid Illyas pay a glowing tribute to the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Earlier, a smartly turned contingent of Pakistan Navy also presented guard of honor to the father of Nation, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

Pak Army celebrates Independence Day: Pakistan Army joined the nation in the celebrations of 65th Independence Day of Pakistan with traditional zeal and fervour.
An ISPR press release issued here on Sunday said that the day dawned with special prayers for prosperity of Pakistan.

A 21-gun salute was also presented in the provincial metropolis. Special flag hoisting ceremonies were carried out at various headquarters and units. The message of Chief of the Army Staff was read on this occasion. A smartly turned out contingent of the Pakistan Naval Academy cadets mounted guard at the Quaid’s mausoleum.

Representatives of three services laid a wreath at the Mazar of Quaid-e-Azam and offered Dua. Special get togethers were held highlighting the importance of the Day.
PAF celebrates Independence Day: Pakistan Air Force joined hands with the nation to celebrate 65th Independence Day of the country with due fervor and dignity.

A PAF press release issued here on Tuesday said that the Day commenced with offering of special ‘Dua’ in mosques of Pakistan Air Force all over the country after the Fajar prayers.
Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers, airmen and the civilian staff of Pakistan Air Force later assembled at their respective Bases, Units and Headquarters to sing Pakistan’s National Anthem.
The flag hoisting ceremony was held at the headquarter Southern Air Command PAF.

Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Iqbal, Air Officer Commanding HQ Southern Air Command PAF, hoisted national flag and read out the message of the day from Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force, in which he said ‘This day is stark reminder of the numerous supreme sacrifices made by our elders for us, so that, we may live in an independent, peaceful and prosperous country.

“It is now incumbent upon us to rise to the situation by rendering our best and only our best, for the sacred motherland. My dear countrymen, let me assure you that the Pakistan Air Force as always is committed and well-prepared to guard the aerial frontiers of our motherland as envisioned by the Father of the Nation. PAF is relentlessly pursuing its modernization plans to attain the ever challenging and demanding status of being an efficient air force second to none.”
On the auspicious day, this order of ceremony was also observed at all PAF bases and establishments, the PAF press release added.
