hehe, i guess the judges are trying to expose the Japanese haafu that live in the country or abroad. I'm just happy that Japanese society is opening up to the internationalism and growing mixed demographic in the young generation. Japan no longer is a society that focuses on 'purism' or 'pure blood superiority'.

Haha, its not good to be too backwards in thinking like that, man. If we only bred with our own, then there is a chance and likelihood we're going to cause genetic isolation, and health-wise, there is a high probability of consanguinity if populations marry in their local communities (cousin-cousin marriages, etc) and well there are health problems, specifically high rate of genetic diseases such as mental retardation, congenital defects.

Besides, its good to cross breed with other ethnicities / races. The product is beautiful. For example, Japanese-European and Japanese-Middle Eastern, Japanese-Latino mixes are...gorgeous. :)

You know who i mean. Akira sees almost all races as pathetic, doesnt even shake a chinese or koreans hand, so his opinion is pretty clear. :D

The number of foreign nationals living in Japan has increased in recently years. In 1985, about 850,000 foreigners lived in Japan. That figure doubled to 1,700,000 in the year 2000. Over the last few years the number has been steadily growing and in 2006 there were about 2,100,000 residents with foreign nationality. Therefore the number of foreigners in Japan in 2006 was almost three times that in 1985. This is a firm indication of Japan’s increasing internationalization.

There is a large mixed Japanese product in the country, a product of the marriages between foreigners living in Japan (over 2.1 million) and with local Japanese. There are no official numbers of 'mixed Japanese' because the children of Japanese and foreigner marriages in Japan are automatically Japanese citizens by right of the Law of Jus Sanguinis. Estimates range , but as much as 150,000 to as high as 250,000 Japanese citizens who are biracial. And as foreigners continue to call Japan home, continue to move to Japan, we can only expect the number of mixed Japanese to increase in the future.

In a way, Japan is slowly becoming a 'USA' in the sens of a mix of cultures. :)
