Almost all the guys that I have meant speak Gujrati or Memoni. Yes Urdu accent is added obviously.

Actually Memons are a different group. They have their own community centers and welfare organizations. They keep their separate identity. Others gujratis like Vohras etc don't consider themselves as Memons. Otherwise there is no difference obviously. Both are muslims.

No body speaks gujrati now! They all speak Urdu!

Well I don't know what you are talking about. Visit bolton market or jodia bazar or bohri bazar. You might easily find many traders and shopkeepers talking gujrati or memoni. Even I had a few memon friends. And they also used to talk in it when they used to talk to their parents or their family.

May be you met someone who is ashamed of speaking in his native language.
