Are Pakistani Security forces & Intelligence even capable of dealing with Talibans & other threats??

@M.SAAD

I am afraid this is a question we should all be asking. I have no doubt that our security apparatus has failed. It has been over a decade and I am afraid at the end of day I can't see any progress. There is no light at end of tunnel.

The fact is over the decades there has ben graduel dumbing down of everything. The quality of our civil service has dropped. The government's ability to deliver efficient services has nose dived. If you look at old pictures of Pakistan it looks more tidier and organised then now. Back in the 1950s we probably had one of the best bureaucracy in the world. Not now.

So it is of no surprise if our law enforcement agencies have also dropped in quality. Whenever I look at Rangers or Police personnel I am embarrased by the general look of unprofesionalism. This shows in minor detail. Untidy uniforms which look more like children's birthday party outfits, unkempt look, many men with pot bellies. Compare that with for example the Chinese security services.

These are just outward sign of the inward rot. It is not surprising. Meritocracy died when the British left in 1947. Sifarish has taken root in our recruitment policies. All we are left with is bombastic talk and bluster. It also is pathetic to say our neighbour or USA is doing it. I don't want to know that. They are doing what they are supposed to do. I want to know what we are doing to stop it and more importantly why have you not stopped it?

Why is a Shia safer in USA, UK or France then his own country? That my dear countrymen is proof our our failure. Take a look at Sri Lanka. They have had a terrible full blown war with their Tamil population. The Tamils make up nearly 12% of Sri Lanka. In Pakistan context that would be like 24 million. We can't even control Karachi.

The LTTE was highly organized and a ferocious group that made TTP look like babies in nappies yet Sri Lankan security forces have defeated or should say wiped out the LTTE. We on the other hand brag but are no where near sorting our mess big talk notwithstanding. The 45 victims bear witness to our abject failure.

This is what you call state power and efficiency looks like ...

Now ours. The general bedraggled, unkempt, tady uniforms, many overweight and a general look of third rate force more fit for Africa. I know this is visuel but often the outside exposes the state of general order, discipline and efficiency.

Sir I think what you have said is totally unbiased and bang on the problem. But you terribly went wrong when you compared LTTE with TTP . Because LTTE is an army fighting for their land . Where TTP is not an army but an ideology . You can boom and bang a physical target which a man with flesh and blood. But how will you defeat an ideology with physical bullets ? Its not possible but hope is there . TTP terrorist are none but Pakistanis who are been eluded with Taliban ideology . To break this you need to start from preschool . And teach a kid its that its wrong to kill someone just because he don't agree with you . Simple as that. Once you do it things will be put in place. After all we live in a society where killing a cartoonist just because he abused our belief .Better thing could be to prove him wrong by doing a right thing . I understand its not an easy task but remedy should start ASAP . So people don't think ideology is better than mother land . Here where you have done lots and lots of mistake .

How about unblemished track record ? Or data trends ? Eg. How many attacks have been on US homeland after 9/11 ?

ZERO !

Totally understand that security is a thankless job but efforts of intangibles can be quantified and given credit over a period of time !
Well obviously it would be less in usa as compared to pakistan or any arab country. Had the usa had a neigbour like afghanistan and such a porous border in which no matter how hard you try you cant fully secure. Other than that what percentage of the us population is muslim? We have a 96% population which is all vulnerable to extremism. It will take time but eventually with a higher literacy rate this would stop.

Well it doesn't make sense to live with such dangerous people. Who want to kill you and call you kafir and all that.
I am not a Shia and definitely not afraid of dying.

Pakistan does not have the technology or the military hardware to match US. US does not live next to a worn torn lawless country like Afghanistan. US is not surrounded by a country like India that stokes terrorism in neighboring countries, so your example is comparing apples and green beans which are not even fruit.

You are wrong my friend. 6 out of 10 sunnis will say that Shias are non-muslim. 3 out of 10 will term them as wajibul qatal.

How shameful of you say these kind of shts. Who are you? some alien race or superior race than Shia's and non Muslims ? So you want to kill everyone else ? Dude don't worry about leaving Pakistan you don't even deserve to live in civilized world where other caste, religion people are seen as humans with different faith . Did anyone asked you to change your religion or caste? Then why do you have these kind of retard thoughts .?

OK. But you should leave. You are living in a failed cause as per your own research.
He is one idiot ignore him . These people need to under go pretty school training .which is not possible

I have been battling extremism for a long time. Will continue doing so until i see a united Pakistan or i will die trying.

My friend you are not the only patriot here. One has to admit the problem before solving it.

I believe it is his country as much as yours. It is this very mindset that is the cause of our problems ....

@RAMPAGE

I see your point about the Sunni but I think your wrong in saying that. I know you did not mean it but people will take it wrongly. No point in chucking oil on what already is highly infammable subject. I would say though the effect you allude to already happened. The Peshawar school attacked helped focus the mind of the army leadership. That attack rattled the army into getting serious.

You are fighting a lost cause. With 100% people being extremists(as per your research) you don't stand a chance.

First decide how many of these were Shia, Ahmedis, Ismailis, Christians. May be a little number of sunnis also died, you see the thing is Armed forces are majority Sunni so to awake them you need to kill sunnis in large number, preferable if they could be killed in masses at one time. Its a D*ck measurement competition so kill sunnis and attack their mosques and see the reaction of armed forces, they have not done enough yet may be that will increase their efficiency and competence. SIG: Solution to Pakistan's problems. Kill all the Sunis, preferable if in masses. Spare the barelvis, though Mumtaz Qadri is a barelvi.
@waz Is it allowed to put signature like this?

Well he says 100% Pakistanis are anti shia and extremists. Then I have reasons to ask him to leave such kind of extremists. Pakistan is a lost cause as per research of @RAMPAGE

No you don't. You correct him. It is called tolerance. Why do you think those animals killed those poor people in Karachi? Because lack of tolerance ....
