A 5-year-old girl was raped and then brutally murdered in Araria. At the time of the incident, all the people of the house had gone to the marriage of the neighbor. The accused took the girl from the house in the dark of night. After rape, she was strangled to death.

There was a wedding in the neighborhood of the house on Friday night. Except the girl and two children, all the elder members had gone to see the wedding. Somebody took away the sleeping girl. When the parents started searching on Saturday morning, the girl was nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, the family's pet dog Kalu barkingly took the family members to the pit where the girl's body was buried after killing it.
After the dead body was found, there was chaos among the family members including the parents of the girl child. The incident was informed by the local people to the city police station. Police reached the spot and took the dead body into custody.

After the incident, a case was registered against the unknown in the city police station on Saturday itself. The police was doing its investigation. Here, the villagers saw the mother of local 23-year-old Amit Rishidev cleaning the blood-stained shirt in front of the house. When people got suspicious, they questioned her, but she could not tell anything accurately. Meanwhile, seeing the opportunity, Amit Rishidev ran away from the house.
People again informed the police about this. Police interrogated Amit Rishidev's mother in custody. Then on Sunday afternoon, Amit Rishidev was arrested from the city police station area itself. Here, the girl's family has only one demand that the accused should be hanged or shot.

SDPO Rampukar Singh inspected the spot. Dog squad and FSL team were also called. SP Ashok Kumar Singh told that Amit Kumar Rishidev picked up the girl and took her to a nearby bush and raped her. When the girl tried to scream, he killed her by hitting her in the chest with a sharp weapon. The body was buried in a pit.
In-charge of Nagar police station Sunil Kumar told that the accused youth and his mother have been arrested. Amit Rishidev has accepted the incident of rape. It will take 1 week for the post mortem report to come. After this further action will be taken.
