I jumped from Intel Q6600 / 8GB RAM to Intel Core i7 2700K / 16 GB RAM, but I sold my setup eventually. Portability for me now.I went from a Q6600 / 8 GB RAM to a Ryzen 2700 with 32GB RAM as a work PC, and daily driver(not gaming). Brilliant CPU. I got the CPU new for 110 GBP, and memory for about 90GB.
AMD have come along way and I suspect for the next few years I will buy AMD until they too turn evil like Intel has..
I am waiting on Nvidia's next generation of graphics card pricing structure to see if i should give up PC gaming for good or if some common sense will return to NVIDIA? ( I have a 970GTX with a 3770k / 16GB RAM for my gaming PC right now, and a Oculus Rift .. ).
Intel being EVIL - am I missing something? I have always found value in Intel offerings.
AMD has certainly come a long way since Phenom debacle; Ryzen is very good.
My first dial-up modem was a USRobotics model - excellent company and products. You have made me nostalgic. Do you miss the noise of the dial up modem? I strangely do.
