What base and boost clock speeds are you getting
Using 3rd or AMD Coolers , what are the temps and whats the TDP at OC ?

I did some research and went with 3900x because the increase in price for 4% increase in performance was not worth it.

It will depend on your task on Most Single Core works you might see intel Ahead but when comes to Multi Core AMD should destroy it

Are you sure that the threadripper is match d to i5? My Ryzen 5 is more powerful than an i5 in more tasks. Threadripper is a completely different beast.

If I am upgrading from i5 to a threadripper and the OP is asking about Ryzen 9 3xxx series. do you think I will compare the power of a threadripper to a bygone intel chip?

I had planes to go for threadripper as well but couldnt find any valid need to get it.
Gone waste that money on RTX 3080 ti of RTX 3090

That is a wise decision. my upgrade ended up costing me £1400 and none of it will recouped.
