Any Possibility Pakistan getting F-35 jets after 2020?

Turkey is the good friend of Pakistan. And Turkey is also in F 35 programe so Pakistan need contact Turkey for this fighter.

But US is the boss n it will not allow that the F-35 reach into hands of Shaheens. So 0% possibility.

US policy is that unless it develops a tactical advantage of 10-15 years it will not sell a particular plane.


So for us to get F35 , us will have to have developed a system advance then it , and and only after 10 years have past that such a system be sold to any friendly nation.

This plane is still not filled requirements of US airforce , so they are not going to sell it to us because other rich nations are already in line to get
300-400 systems

So if they get their supplies some where in 2018 , we will not even get to see even consideration for 1 such plane untill 2025, when all other nations of world are equiped with at least 80 F35 each


The reason we were given the F16's in 80's was because Russia was trying to occupy Afghanistan and be with in striking distance of oil reserves in Middle east - US did not wanted Russia to have control of all the world oil sources so they armed us by F16 frist and also armed other nations like Turkey and israel with F16 to counter any movement of russians towards the oil reserves.

If it was not for Russian adventures in Afghanistan we would not have recieved any new planes and we would have been flying the freedom fighter planes form 70's like all nations

They did that 20 years before the 35. Its called the F-22.

Even if we do get it in next 20-30 years, the way our economy is improving will never permit us to maintain it..may be we will get to see lots of F-35 drawings on Khan saab truck, bus and rickshaw

F-35 after 2020? Hmmm.....well may be...if we survive 2012...

On the serious note...F-35 has yet to pass all the tests and become operational,and no guarantees that Americans themselves will be using the plane by 2020 or not.

Well according to memo posted in this forum few months back, Pakistan preferred F16C/D over F35. But it seems senate had approved this plane for PAF.

Anything is possible. If the present relations are maintained, there is a considerable possibility that the JSF could be sold to Pakistan.

Sure as long as corruption is dealt with and and the economy continues to grow.

But F-35 is more of a luxury than a need. The work that needs to be done be done with alternative machines. Don't hold your breath, corrution is the needle that bursts the dreams of Pakistan.

No, no and no.

Pakistan must get out of this mentality of western planes, where will the spare parts come from after the west ditches Pakistan again? The US is already siding with India, as they are a block towards China. In 2020, India will have USA backing and Pakistan will have China's. If anything, aim for JXX.

Pakistan's move should be to acquire F-22's, however small in amount, a good Chinese plane wouldn't hurt either. Study them, study the JF17 and it's downsides. Improve JF's concepts by studying the rafter/chinese jet. Pakistan needs to be self sufficient, even relying on China is short term. For the long term, 100-200 years we need to be self sufficient now to get the best headstart and not just against India.

India can't match us in self-sustainability R&D since they have China to worry about and it's in their better short-term interests (and immediate) to buy foriegn equipment to deal with Chinese.

no of enginneering & science graduates annually
R & D budgets of the respective countries
