Can any body has any recent report of Agin6 ICBm with range of 8000-10000 kms.

In May 2012, reports confirmed the development of another ICBM in the Agni series, a three-stage Agni VI missile. It was purported that the missile will be developed in 2014 or so and will have an even longer range, up to 8,000 km to 10,000 km. The Agni VI will be sleeker than the Agni-V and capable of carrying at least 10 nuclear warheads, capable of targeting multiple targets at the same time..

its in the works will be highli minuturised form of the current A5 and will have a 25% increase in range but same payload but the best thing is it will have MIRV and much lighter

After Agni V testing, DRDO and several experts had predicted that with technologies in its grasp, increasing the range of missile should not be very challenging considering that missile production has matured significantly. But i suppose the debate over 8000+ Km (truly ICBM) would be if India really requires such an arrow in its quiver in near future. With almost all of China in its range, Agni V serves almost all purposes strategically. However DRDO may still go in 8-10K Kms range missile a some sort of technology demonstrator (like they did earlier) and wait for opportune time.

It would be not a problem for DRDO to develop ICBM with >8000 km range.but the thing is we need to concentrate more on Air defense projects and SLBM's for greater range and more pay loads.the reason is simple since we are having 2 nuke powering nations on west and north.

We need this missile. We shouldn't restrict ourselves.

Technically its no problem for us anymore. The question is about the political will.

Agni-V capable of carrying at least 10 nuclear warheads, capable of targeting multiple targets at the same time..

That is the most deadliest part...........

Most probably they are stuck with Finding the most difficult to manufacture Composites and alloys for the missile...Hence the delay..
