Anti-Semitism in Goa

There is actually no antisemitism in India. IMHO, the statement issued by the Churches is simply venting out frustration at the unruly behavior of some 'tourists'.
Tell us, what could possibly be the cause or reasons for antisemitism in India? Compare that with conditions which foster this kind of behavior in Europe or even the Americas!

Meanwhile, this holds true as well.

India is home to 1 billion Hindus, few million Sikhs and other minorities but India also has 150 million Muslims and a few dozen million Christians. Many of them have anti-Semitic views but they are by far a very small minority.

No one said India is anti-Semitic, in fact India is known to be the only country in the world which has never been anti-Semitic but you have your minorities which happen to be anti-Semitic as in this case.
This is the Church of Goa we are talking about, not India.

Incidentally, I myself am a Christian ( Syrian Christian ). Not a catholic, not a protestant, not a Pentecostal. Like gubbi said, there is no reason nor any incentive for folks in India to harbor anti-Semitic attitude. In-fact, we have a very long history of providing asylum to stranded Jews. Jews wandering without a home were welcomed with open arms into states like Kerala ; where they stayed for the remainder of their lives until the call came to go back home ( Israel ).

Exactly my point, these people are a tiny minority.

I`ve read this article before it was published on PDF and i knew that it was a bunch of brainwashed alter boy loving baboons and did not represent Indians at all.

Look, i feel i ought to explain a bit here. Many catholics are anti-semitic but most aren't. There are hundreds of churches in India which ranges from the random Pentecostals to indigenous Indian churches which trace no connection to catholocism.

Most Indian churches, including the Pentecostals are fiercely pro Israel. In-fact, my own church played decisive roles in establishing and nurturing various tour operators and organisations promoting Israel among the Indian populace.

So try not to diss Christians in general . They are among some of the major supporters of Israel in India

Lol... u dnt look syrian... u look like a tamil or south indian.

I didn't say i was either. Considering the current situations, i would even consider it counter-productive

Mar Thoma Church is an Eastern Oriental Church. It adheres to the Syriac tradition and bases its teachings in accordance with Biblical teachings. It is one of the Saint Thomas Christian churches tracing its origins to the missionary activity of Thomas the Apostle. The original liturgical language used in Malankara Church was Aramaic and Hebrew. Later this was replaced by Syriac. In 1898 the church decided to continue its old name Malankara Marthoma Church with the addition of Syriac in it.

MOD EDIT

I meant those who attack Israel are the problem, brother.
Don't misunderstand my words, i was referring to those who deem Israel to be evil while the Arab terrorists to be good. It is them which gain my disdain, wherever they may be and whatever their religion is.

.
Wait how is any of this 'anti-semitic' ? I mean I don't buy the study either but 'antisemitism' ? Really...it talked about 'Israelis' who come her to forget and what not...not 'Jews' ! And even if it did say something to that effect...how does such an exclamation becomes 'hatred' ?

What are you talking about? Semites are God's chosen people, the Jews. Who cares if Arabs are Semites, criticise an Arab and it's all good. Criticise a Jew/Israeli and your a hate mongering Anti-Semite even though most Jews.

It totally doesn't matter if most Jews are descendants of White Eastern Europeans. I could probably convert to Judaism and my descendants would also be 'semites'. :azn:

I apologize, i feel like i should point out something. You wouldn't be accepted into Judaism, ever, there are criteria which you simply could never meet.

Lol whatever. I forgot that Rabbis have a monopoly on who can convert to Judaism or not.

Not an issue anyway, I prefer to stay away from organised religion.

You need dedication, a good heart, a kind nature. Intelligence is quite important as well.
That is why you cannot qualify, sorry. It is Jewish law.

Doesn't the law of return state that anyone who converts to Judaism can immediately apply for Israeli citizenship ?

I'm pretty sure it does.

And you need to be circumcised and have a ritualistic bath. :azn:

Do all this and you gain the title of 'semite'. :azn:
