What's new

Another day another GOLD 🥇 for India.

Why India is so bad at swimming? the country has coast lines on both sides and hot tropical weather which makes swimming perfectly suitable all year round. and Indians are known for bathing in Ganges river.

INDIA wins hockey GOLD 5-1 !!! and overall tally of medals as of now 95 . with 22 golds .( 22- 34- 39)

India is not a coastal civilization as you claim.

Here is the world population map:-

See how most of China lives near the sea. While most of India lives in Himalayan planes.

Having a coast 2000 km from your home is not considered coastal. By the same logic, Afghanistan is coastal.

Having said that,

Indian swimmers are where Chinese swimmers were in 2002.

For example, in 2022 Asian Games, best Indian swimmer finished with 50.61 sec in 100m freestyle

Which would have gotten him Gold, if it was 2002 Asian games:-

Gold(2002) :- 50.76 sec

But he could not secure place in the final, as the competition has risen.

Same can be said about tons of other events.

Clearly I can say that Indian swimmers are where Chinese swimmers were in 2002. On timings.

The difference also comes as India revamped it's Olympic strategy in 2014 after Modi.

And just 7-8 years of A-grade training isn't sufficient to beat Chinese swimmers which have 17-18 years of A-grade swimming coaching behind them.

It will need a little bit more time for results to come fully.

The Junior Indian swimmers are much better than the senior team as they got better training from early on in their lives. Hence 4-5 Indian swimmers finish in World Top 100 at junior Championships:-

Rome wasn't built in a day.

What? the best time for the Chinese swimmers was in the mid 1990's ( China won 12 of the 16 women’s titles at the 1994 world championships in Rome) and there are many sports records haven't been broken in China for over 40 years, Zhu jianhua's high jump record 2.39 meters was created in 1984. Sports results go up and down, it's not like economy which you can say India was where China was in certain years.

For swimming, it is going up. I am not talking about other sports.

A gold in 90s wouldn't even qualify you for finals. Just check the timings.

I already showed you how Indian swimmer finished with a timing better than 2002 Asian Gold medal in 100 m freestyle. What's the confusion.

That's a very weird comparison, you mean in 20 years Indian swimmers will be as good as Chinese swimmers today? but what's the point?

Actually many Chinese world champion swimmers are not from coastal provinces

What happens after 20 years can't be predicted.

I was just showing where Indian swimming stands currently as you asked for it. That's it.

Men’s doubles badminton team stormed into finals. What a game. Impressive performance.

Chirag and Ranki Reddy did it like a boss.

Qin haiyang, the best swimmer in China, from Hunan province, not coastal

But you just said for swimming the results always go up.
What if there is WW3 and everything gets destroyed.

Let's not make future predictions

The men's single should have been much better.

The Indian who beat the number one Chinese player, Lakshya Sen in team event wasn't playing.

HS Pranoy had injury:-

Quite a bad luck of events.

We should have won men's single gold as well. If Lakshya Sen was playing in singles tournament. He defeated Shi Yuqi, #1 ranked in China quite easily in team events:-

You do not need to be coastal civilization to be good at swimming.

You need more swimming pools and training.

India is a piss poor country which cannot afford swimming pools and golf courses.

Indian hockey also went down the drain some decades ago when field hockey switched from grass to synthetic turf.

Why India is so bad at swimming? the country has coast lines on both sides and hot tropical weather which makes swimming perfectly suitable all year round. and Indians are known for bathing in Ganges river.

Weight is the problem.

Indians are overweight due to bad food they eat.

Chinese and East Asian are generally light weighted and skinny which helps in them atheletics and swimming.
