Considering there is always debate about storage of water , and how Lakes hold key to store certain extra water.

I was just checking out Pakistan's map and I came across a ancient lake in Pakistan which now is dry

On Google it appears under RCD lake
This ancient large is size of a major Pakistani City

The area adjacent to this ancient Lake is a areas as big as Sindh 40% uncultivated land
If Pakistan ever launched a massive Desalination plant Project , Water could be transported from Sea Shore areas to this massive lake depression by means of canals or pipes

This dried up Lake is quite interesting because it is a natural lake
It is one of the larges visible items on Pakistani Map from satellites

Initially you might not realize it exists there but if you zoom into the picture you will see Google has put the name of the Lake "RCD Lake" this is one of those lakes which are now considered "Extinct" and many scientist think Fresh water is evaporating from land masses theory

And why in allah's name Pakistan would transport all that water to nowhere? In worst case scenario pipelines can be build to transport water to major cities.

Anyway Pakistan have more then enough water but problem is management and priority. Not just dams but Pakistan could save 80% of water just by getting rid of flood irrigation. Gulf countries would kill to have amount of water resources Pakistan have, from rivers, rain, ground water etc

It is a natural reservoir with a land mass next to it as big as Sindh which could be turned into massive Agricultural Osasis

We have much much more

a) Largest Coal deposits
b) Gas (Unsure what is the % remaining but we used to have it)
c) Riqo diq mineral deposits
d) Large supply of fresh water
e) Nuclear power
f) Agriculture & Farms
g) Live Stock /Animals

Almost all of Balochistan is fit for agriculture. Not long ago it was teeming with wildlife and even the most remote desert areas had oasis packed with fruits and vegetables.

Alas the systematic negligence first by the British and continued by the politicians is ruining the Land rendering it barren.

There is however still time.

Indeed. I would be a Pakistani much more than Arabian. Oil is just one of industry material, what else Arab countries has? Nothing.

Pakistan has the land of Germany + France, the population of Germany + France. Most importantly, Pakistan can self-defend her national interest. Pakistan + China alliance can be very powerful politically, militarily and economically in future. Germany and France have reached their peak of influence, no potential.

It's just about time when Pakistan rise as a very powerful country.

My personal advice: Do what East Asia did in past half century, focus on development. Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, HK and Singapore has 30000-60000 GDP(nominal) per capita. China has about 10000 GDP(nominal) per capita.

China GDP in 2019 is 11X than year 2000. As long as Pakistan find the right recipe of development, everything is possible.

Reviving an old thread, but to raise a few questions.

Has Pakistan done a mineral survey of the country, and if so has Pakistan done a survey at Hamun-e-Mashkel aka "RCD Lake". The sheer size of the "lake" and its general proximity to Gwadar would be idea if it turns out it has valuable mineral reserves, such as Lithium.

Other dry lake bed have mineral serves that are being exploited. At the very least this location should be surveyed. If it turns up Lithium, it can be turn into batteries and shipped to China via the nearby Gwadar port.

For comparison, here is another dry lake bed that turned up valuable minerals

Some waderas in sindh doesnt want any dam from up stream cuz they will not be allowed to get as much water as they want plus with dam in down stream small land owner will get the equal water which they dont want.
maybe sindh river will not dry for next 20 years and when they are threaten that now will not get the water then they will force to make Kalabagh dam.
i am surprise that how these indivisuals hurting Pak and no one take care of them at all.
