Analyzing PTI's Peace March Against US Drone Warfare in FATA

It will fail in the sense that the people, Imran Khan won't be remote controlled by Khakis or the Red, white and blue. The Day Imran Khan, the PM orders PAF to shoot down the drones and then they refuse, you know unke saath kesi honi hai.

To say that the Army is going to be afraid of Imran Khan given past history is highly highly misleading.

Looks like he is not going to be the first leader. He did not even enter SW, let alone go to NW.

I'm sorry, wasnt the objective to enter North Waziristan, show the world that there were no terrorists, all is well over there and prove that the drones are only killing civilians ? How did any of these got completed.

The fact he did turn away when told there was a security risk shows his contention that Waziristan is safe is bogus.

you dont know even a **** about the peace march and you are yelling here about his failure lol ... Imran khan;s main objective was to show the world the drone attacks are main cause of extremism in these tribals areas when a innocent dies his relative took revenge by help of indian and CIA backed talibans against the citizen and military of pakistan by suicide bombs .. imran khan said peace should be given the main priority to finish thi **** from this region .. and why imran khan didnt proceed up to waziristan do you even know their were thousands of people with imran khan and hundreds of foreigners what if some bad incident could have happend with indian or Cia backed people ?? Military knows the reality thats why they didnt allowed them to proceed further . better stay away from this topic if you dnt even know the abc regarding this march ...

Fazl says 'Imran is an agent of West'

October 07, 2012 - Updated 1820 PKT

ISLAMABAD: Amir Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman has labeled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan as an agent of West who has no link with tribal people.

Addressing a Students' Rights convention organized here under the auspices of Jamiat Tulaba-e-Islam, Fazl said the 'drama' of Waziristan rally was being staged as part of a plan of Imran Khan's brother in law and ex-wife to produce a film.

He said imperialist forces had been engaged in a planned manner to seize the resources of undeveloped countries while the international organizations were creating economic upheaval to establish their control on developing states.

"The war on terror is in fact aimed at fomenting terrorism," he alleged.

Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said 'Deoband' refers to a concept of a grand Islamic campaign and not for drawing donations for madresahs, which, he added, will need to be prevented from being used for terrorist activities.

Abdul Ghafoor Hyderi in his address severely criticized Imran Khan, saying the latter should first take a look at his face in the mirror before claiming to form an Islamic state. "Imran Khan's children are still being brought up by his Jewish (ex) wife," he maintained.

My analysis: The khakis will encourage mass protests against drone strikes, and then use that impression to try and wrest more control of the drone attacks from USA in terms of targeting and even hardware. This strategy will fail.

Your and Solomon obsession with PA Army seems to have no bounds. :bounce:

Has the march served it purpose on checking the drone attacks?

Is there any effect? Immediate or in days to come?

Or will it die it as an election stunt?

Honestly speaking IK march into Waziristan is BS, it was establishment stunt to tell people we are against drone strikes but behind the scene they back drone strikes and IK admitted himself that on army orders they changed plan and going back.
Read third line in highlight: Fauj k pegham pe waziristan jany ka program tabdeel kar dia. :D

critical eh :-)
i'd like to mention just one thing on contemporary Pakistani executives and civil/military bureaucrats.

Jalaal-e-baadshahi ho ke jamhoori tamaasha ho,
Juda ho Deen seyasat se, tou reh jaati hae Changezi.
(Iqbal)

Allah knows better everybody's intentions. Let's hope and do for the best.

i personally think IK should not adhere to improvisation.
i dont think any sane Pakistani would like the scheme of US drone attacks. but marching towards the danger zone, with lives of so many under threat, just to oppose the drone strikes, is really stupid.
had it been a good way of solving the problems, it would have been adopted by the pioneers of our history, those the world recognises, and those we admire. but we seldom receive wisdom. a lot of us move where we are rolled. if we want to revolutionise, our method to protest must change now.

.
but we can not blame IK. because what else he could do... eh? :D

well, i believe he had an alternate choice. he could have made the Pakistanis aware of their history (1947 hitherto). what the civil-military bureaucracy has been doing to their homeland. and what the results are. the drone strikes are nothing but a strategic failure for pakistan. if IK had chosen that path, atleast the 'parhi likhi - the minority' of Pakistan would have followed him. and this required just an awareness campaign whose members could be IK and some experienced knowledgable analysts. if IK wants something to lead him closer to the masses, he can do it by not just playing politics, but by engaging himself and the people in positive education. honestly, the people of pakistan are tired of "kis ne kis ke khilaaf march ki or us ke kya maqasid they" :(
