Aggressor squadron had F-16 Blk 15 (ADF) I have heard that AMRAAM was not integrated on this ones, or we got that sorted by MLU

disagree. the enemy has top of the line aircrafts including the mig21bison. its inept, useless, poorly trained and coward indian pilots, engineers and technicians are giving all these flying machines a bad name.

the problem in between the instrument panel and the ejection seat in the indian aircrafts!

Besides MKI, all of their fleet is at least 35 years old the "latest" being M2000 from mid 80's, rest are even more older, compare that with MLU f-16 and jf17, f7 and m5's is a baggage for paf when it comes to dog flight.

there mirages are going through upgrades currently
while mig 29 went through structural upgrades

having said that, the MKI fleet is pretty young

At least on paper, the ADF F-16s wouldn't really be ADF if they didn't carry the AIM-120s.

Although I can't seem to find a picture of any PAF F-16 ADF with an AIM-120, I did find one of an RJAF F-16 ADF with an AIM-120.

But then this particular bird, '680', belongs to the 'Peace Falcon II' deal and went through the MLU program.

So the AIM-120 in that picture is most probably because of the MLU.


The ones that we acquired belonged to the 'Peace Falcon I' deal and they did not undergo the MLU program. Given that Jordan only requested the AIM-120 from the US after signing the deal to MLU their F-16 ADFs from 'Peace Falcon II', it would be safer to assume that the 'Peace Falcon I' F-16 ADFs never could carry the AIM-120 and probably still don't with the PAF.

The F-16 ADF carries the Westinghouse AN/APG-66(V)1 radar, which was modified to improve small target detection and to provide the continous wave illumination needed by the Sparrow missile. Standard air-to-air modes are look up, look down, search and track, track while scan, automatic tracking, and air combat search. The AIM-7 Sparrow missile can be carried only on the middle underwing pylon, and even then only with pylons equipped with RDRC. The ADF is the only American Fighting Falcon with Sparrow capability. Hughes AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles are usually carried on the outboard underwing pylons, and AIM-9 Sidewinder infrared homing missiles are typically carried on the wingtips. Although it is not typical practice, either Sidewinders or AMRAAMS can be carried at the wingtip points and on the outermost pair of underwing pylons. The innermost pair of underwing pylons are reserved for 360 US gallon droptanks, and the centerline hardpoint can carry a 300 US gallong external fuel tank. The internal M61A1 20-mm cannon with 511 rounds is retained.
