Sachs is rare in the usa. Even most Democrats want a cold war with China. 60% of USAians in November 2020 believed crazy, insane anti-China trump was too soft on China.

Sachs is only like this because Sachs has been in China and knows the real story. The media in the usa whips down the public to hate the Chinese, so hate crimes are at record levels.

China's should have top concern, other than EW and ECM/ECCM/ECCCM/etc and DEW, to develop Air Defense Systems that would protect the Chinese surface fleet from being destroyed in a war. Newer missiles have to be defended against, in a layered ADS for ship and for land based ADS.

Been saying this for years on the forum.

Until then, submarines are important because there are limited ways to attack subs. The newest is drone subs. Which can be used against surface fleet too. So there is much for China to research. As the Arm-Aze conflict showed the importance of drones.

Once you have effective ADS and yearly keep researching ways to improve the systems, China can construct spacecraft to defend from trumps space force. This is what to R&D for the next 5 decades, to make km long spacecraft. Starting small first. However, they need top defense systems. Until energy shields are developed, these are too vulnerable based on costs. China has to beat the usa in this technology, or expect to be bullied. These technologies should be given full wartime funding.

usa won't start a conflict with China unless Washington has technological superiority. So to prevent war and protect the peace, China has to have sci-fi level in technology.
