KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain said on Friday that peace talks can not be held with those who were killing policemen and security personnel and attacking mosques and Imambargahs.

Asking the armed forces and establishment to take a bold decision, he said that if the nation did not stop terrorists their hands would reach every Malala of the nation.

He was speaking from London by phone to the inauguration ceremony of new units of the Nazeer Hussain Hospital, a project of the Khidmat-i-Khalq Foundation.

Lashing out at those who were in favour of holding talks with militants, he said: “How can we hold talks with those who fired shots on Malala Yousufzai, Shazia and Kainat? How can we talk about peace with those who beheaded personnel and officers of the army, police and FC?”

He asked the authorities to take prompt measures to save all Malala-like girls from terrorists. “We do not want to fight, but the enemy has reached our doorstep.”

Mr Hussain asked the people to decide whether they wanted the country of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah or a Pakistan of the Taliban.

He assured the armed forces that the MQM and the people of the country were with them in their every courageous action. “The whole nation is united and the armed forces should avail the opportunity [to take action against terrorists].”

The MQM chief appreciated the completion of new units in the hospital.

Let's not talk about Altaf's character but what is actually being said here. He's absolutely correct in saying what he said.

We've had 3 peace accords with the Taliban and they broke each one of them. They have never resorted to peace and have only aggressed and have engaged in oppressing the local populace. I recall these verses from the Quran:

[2:190] You may fight in the cause of GOD against those who attack you, but do not aggress. GOD does not love the aggressors.
[2:191] You may kill those who wage war against you, and you may evict them whence they evicted you. Oppression is worse than murder. Do not fight them at the Sacred Masjid, unless they attack you therein. If they attack you, you may kill them. This is the just retribution for those disbelievers.
[2:192] If they refrain, then GOD is Forgiver, Most Merciful.
[2:193] You may also fight them to eliminate oppression, and to worship GOD freely. If they refrain, you shall not aggress; aggression is permitted only against the aggressors.

To the detractors I say, would you not fight people who violated their treaties? Are you afraid of them?

Ahem...ahem... an occasional look in the mirror isn't that harmful,it just might show you your own face if you are not blind or a wide faced blatant liar

Altaf's henchmen killed policemen after successful Karachi operation. So by that logic, no one should talk to Altaf Hussain either.

If someone more credible than himself says about not talking, people of Pakistan will listen. As the things stand today, MQM is part of the ruling coalition in Pakistan. It has failed to safeguard life and property of common citizen. So the party or its leader has no right to say anything about Taliban. If its so helpless, it should leave the coalition. But it will never ever leave. Its an opportunist party.

In fact, it is involved in ghunda-gardi and terrorism in Karachi. There are several confessions of its terrorists on the internet. Not just that, the Supreme Court also declared that ruling coalition in Sind, which includes MQM, is involved in target killing in Karachi.
