Altaf assures MQM’s support to President Zardari

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Thursday assured President Asif Ali Zardari that his party will continue supporting the PPP-led coalition government, DawnNews reported.

Both the leaders declared that continuance of the democratic system was vital for the stability of Pakistan.

Ruling out reports of parting ways from the government, Hussain assured the president that his party is still a coalition partner of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP).

He said the MQM is a democratic party and believes in democratic process in the country.

Both the leaders agreed that resolving issues through mutual understanding was need of the hour.

Meanwhile, the MQM chief also extended an apology to the journalists’ community for using inappropriate language against them in a public speech.

In a statement issued by the party, Hussain said that he extends unconditional apology to journalists and anchor persons if they were offended by any of his words. “I respect the journalist community and will always respect them…I take my words back unconditionally if they offended anyone,” said the statement.

MQM has taken out large rallies in support of Zardari.But last time i remember they were Anti Feudal and jageerdar Party and they were taking part in long march plus the drama of resigning and once again joining the government after Petrol price drama?

I as PTI supporter will still stand behind Tahir Baba if he is actually sincere in making this political system better. If this happens, the only beneficiary of this gain will be PTI and the people of Pakistan and on the loosing side, there will be all Status Quo political parties.

Support this change, it is not for new PM but refinement in electoral system.

Chief of Pakistan Awami Tehreek Tahir-ul-Qadri talked to the chief of Muthahida Quami Movement Altaf Hussain on the phone and discussed current political situation.

Talking to Altaf Hussain Tahirul Qadri said that certain political leaders are saying that has returned to the country to postpone elections and to derail the democratic system.

On this, Altaf Hussain said that Tahirul Qadri has not come to delay elections but to abolish the feudal system of the antiquity and culture of loot & plunder; corruption and writing off of billions of rupees of loans and to get electoral system reformed.

Thus, Altaf Hussain further said, the people who are leveling accusations against Tahirul Qadri want the status quo to continue.

MQM has extended support to Dr Tahirul Qadri due to having a principle harmony, he added.
