The Royal Saudi Air Force has contracted the Alsalam Aircraft for the maintenance of its Boeing F-15 fleet.

The five-year technical support programme is worth SAR1.42 billion ($380 million). This is the largest contract in the history of the Riyadh-based MRO company, according to a filing on the Saudi stock exchange.

Alsalam Aircraft is a joint ventur founded in 1988 by Boeing (50%), Saudi Arabian Airlines (25%), Saudi Advanced Industries Company (10%), Gulf Investment Company (10%), and the Saudi Arabian National Industrialization Company (5%).

Saudi Arabia has a current fleet of 151 F-15s, as listed in Flightglobal's MiliCAS database. Riyadh during October requested a possible $29.4 billion deal to upgrade 70 of its exisiting fighters, and to acquire 84 more in a new F-15SA configuration.
