That was definitely a dangerous stunt, but the Russians are known for taking such risks and follow a different set of rules as to how far they're allowed to push safety regulations. This is no secret since they perform many of their stunts a very low altitudes and within areas that are typically much more restricted within western airforces.

Another example of this greater liberty the Russians have is that recent video of the Su-30 that almost drove into the IL-76's cargo bay. Even to be so close to the big aircraft as it unloaded it's crates is much closer than others allow.

Even their interceptions of US & NATO aircraft are very aggressive and more dangerous than the other way around.
And what about the Su-24s that buzzed the USS Donald Cook.

And just last week was probably the closest interaction that was very dangerous when a couple of Russian Su-35s were confronting a pair of F-22's over Syria and the US pilots claimed they were very aggressive with the Raptors and might've even said they did barrel rolls over the American aircraft. That would be a major problem if either side was forced to shoot the other down.
