The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will appoint trained spokesmen to its all departments to provide information about events and issues to journalists in the province.
This was stated by spokesman for the chief minister Shiraz Paracha during a news conference at Peshawar Press Club here on Tuesday.
Mr Paracha said a media cell or communication cell would be established at the Chief Ministers House to bridge the communication gap between the media and the government.
He said sub-offices of the proposed media cell would also be established at the directorate of information department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad and Lahore, where the relevant officials would provide information to the media about emerging issues and problems.
The chief ministers spokesman said the media reports on issues related to the provincial government would be regularly monitored for prompt, necessary action.
He said the relevant reporters and institutions would be informed about the governments response about the issues and efforts for their solution.
Mr Paracha said he would brief the media about daily meetings and decisions of the chief minister for the peoples information.
He said the chief minister had directed all government institutions to write and use full name of the province (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) and not KP in correspondence. The chief ministers spokesman said Mr Khattak had also asked the federal government, other three provincial governments, TV anchors and columnists to use full name of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the provincial capital had poor sanitation situation despite the monthly expenditure of Rs10 million.
Mr Paracha said the government had planned to sign an agreement with a Turkey-based private firm for cleaning the city using modern machinery.
The garbage collected by the firm on a daily basis will be used instead of being dumped, he said.
The chief ministers spokesman said 100 closed-circuit television cameras would be installed in the city to regulate traffic and monitor the law and order situation.
He said the chief minister had directed the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited to ensure smooth gas supply to the industries in the province without delay as the government was committed to the promotion of industries in the province.
