Yeah , what about India's ISRO ? I think their first manned mission Gagayaan will take place by that time

Yes, I think one uncrewed test flight in 2022 and one in 2023 and then the crewed one in 2024.

But what SpaceX will do in 2024 - the uncrewed trip to Mars - will invigorate space programs everywhere in the world.

True lol , Americans always going to new boundaries. Also India has to fund ISRO more to eventually make their HLV aka Heavy Lift Launch Vehicle

Yes, and so the East and the Global South, perhaps led by Russia and India, have to provide a healthy rivalry. China I think will go independent.

One good thing in India that has happened in the last four to five years is the opening up of the space industry to private groups / companies. I know of at least three companies - Skyroot Aerospace, Agnikul Cosmos and Bellatrix Aerospace - who are developing rocket engines and entire carrier rockets. Perhaps they will allow India to develop a manned presence on Mars by the mid-2030s. Actually the Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has invested in Bellatrix.

2040 I think lol , they still need better funding and a super heavy lift launch vehicle

Agreed.

It would help if the government stops spending on wasteful projects ( like on statues and the Central Vista "redevelopment" ) and more on manned space missions and on developing a better welfare system.

More government and private economic and material investment in those three companies will go a long way.

2040 I think lol

Well, if the above conditions come about I don't see why technological progress cannot come by mid-2030s. Also, I think SpaceX will be on Mars by then, maybe even before, so the technological simplification and momentum of SpaceX will hasten development in other countries.
