29th Jun, 2007 11:45:29 AM

LONDON: Pakistan’s tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq was beaten by Russia’s Marat Safin in the men’s singles second-round match at the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in south London.

Aisam-ul-Haq contested bravely with the former world champion but overall Safin dominated the match. He defeated Aisam 6-4, 6-2 and 7-6.

Aisam had defeated Lee Childs of Britain in his first round.

Now, Marat Safin will meet world number one Roger Federer in the third round

Unfortunately media again missed the big news!

Well done Aisam. Literally it’s a great achievement on Aisam's part for reaching in 2nd round without the help of govt. or sponsors. He can't afford a foreign good qualified coach. Last time he was ousted in first round.

Roger Federer is number 2, Nadal is current no. 1. He won against Philipp and Soderling in 3rd and 4th round respectively.

Nadal is not playing this time, so chances of dream final between federer and murray.

What to talk about 'pakistani' media, they prefer to air gossips of indian actresses. :blah: :blah:
