Avionics setup of PAC known as Avionics Production Factory (APF) was initially established as the Radar Maintenance Centre (RMC) in 1983 for overhaul / rebuild of ground based radar systems. In 1989, its capability was enhanced to handle avionics along with ground based radars.

Today APF, with its state of the art facilities, can undertake production of different types of avionics as well as commercial electronics equipment while ensuring high quality standards as per requirements of Aerospace Standard AS9100 Rev C.

The factory has produced number avionics systems like Grifo-7 and KLJ-7 airborne radars, radar warning receivers, Identification of Friend or Foe (IFF), Digital Audio Video and Crash Recorders, various mission computers and navigation systems. Most of these systems have been co-produced in collaboration with Chinese and Western manufacturers.

Pakistan has received TOT for Radars for Grifo-7 Series radars and recently from China for KLJ-7 so that gives us flexibility to make adjustments to our needs on case by case basis

I thought an Article is due for this High Technology Branch , which perhaps now as we speak might be testing out Advance Avionics for Block 3, or newer Radars in cooperation with friendly companies

Pakistan is 100% Self Reliant on the production of the Radars for its fleet of crafts and has the skills needed to enhance new planes with radar upgrades

If only we had good rulers then PAC & similar institutes like her would had been developed nicely & would had been far more advance than what they are right now.

Thats something to be proud of. i used to know that KLJ-7 airborne radars were imported from China, now i realized PAC also made them here.seems like its one of few facilities in Pakistan that are thriving.

.
I think the important part is that we can Make the Radars locally and have the Technical Know-how, this can aid in our local understanding and training a next generation of Engineers

KLJ-7 , certainly is a good Radar , and the knowledge attained from it will help us to even improve on this variant

indeed we can,
the next chapter should be an AESA radar. that sure will receive a lot of praise.

.
why we did not go for TOT of AESA radar from Selex as we have very close working relationship with them?

Don't see why not , such a venture cannot be examined
Possibly money and the need . I think what PAF wants to do is have a few platofrms kitted up with AESA and divide them accross the many squadrons for best effect. That means we do not need as many AESA radars as we might have thought. Our adversay also to this date does not have AESA although they do have PESA on their UM KAY EIYS.

we had 40 years of Army rule, is that considered good rulers?
I dont think bad rulers ever did any destruction inside the factory, beside defense projects dont get any interference from bad rulers, even from security threats like Benazir. Dont blame all the shortcomings on bad (political) rulers. Let others take some responsibility

In Military rule PD has developed but when DEMOCRAZY came it was only about new ways of corruption & corruption only.

I am waiting for your next post when you will be bragging about how army project are not influenced by Politician, in layman's word Politician army ka kutch ne ukhar saktey. But as always convenience is the name of the game, say whatever is conveniently fits in a situation.

But I want to ask you one question that NS always brags about JF-17 project started in his govt, can we give him the credit for it, how about nuclear explosion does he takes that one too, or we just blame the shortcomings on the politicians and achievements go to Army?
