Probably the author as well as the minister doesnt know that for any such action in senate, Central govt takes permissions from Governor of the State and in absence of him permissions can be taken from President of India. Its silly for them to tell that center should inform that they are coming to raid there office and catch one of them..

This report is not carried by major media outlets. Not even by Tamil ones.

But even I felt the same. The raid was being carried out less than few rooms away from CM chair. If Jaya was alive, nobody would have dared touch him without her explicit permission.
If you are going somewhere in Secretariat its imperative you get permission from Chief Secretary and if he is raided then permission from CM. Laws allow them to search or raid without their permission only under certain conditions.

Are you saying that Jaya would have shielded the guilty CS ?

or that he even needs to be shielded from the law ? Treated as a "special" criminal because is he a "babu" ?

I am baffled at reactions from some section of people or media questioning the Center government not informing Tamil Nadu CM about the raid. That too when the CS has strong link with the ruling party and amassing wealth more than he can earn through his salary.

People complain about corruption in the nation and when some acts they questions the approach.

Its like, a thief hides in his relative's house and the relative is complaining about the police for not informing upfront the plan to catch the thief at his home.

What the Central Government did is right, especially in the corruption dominant state.

She would have let him be raided at her own perusal. JJ is a hardened shrewed politician. Things will get backfired for any party if such things are carried out without informing her.

Jaya is egoistic. Whether she shields or allowed this is another matter. But she is a one who makes sure that in TN things get done through her or never at all. TN has reaped the benefits of such actions and have been the receiving end as well.

Maybe its time for law to take its own course than be a slave to political expediency.

Sanction from governor is good enuf, alternatively they can petition the high court for warrant. But by the time they do it they will be alerted and raid will be a waste of time.

Sovereignty of a state that is a part of the union? When was this concept introduced. CBI is a central body that have the authority to investigate crime irrespective of the state or centre status quo.

Are you that dumb to involve China in this? Tamilnadu is a state of the Indian union and all the employees or citizens under the state will have to abide by the Constitution.
