i wouldnt be surprised if it happens. but ten year period is too optimistic.

China is usually conservative to make claim, keep in mind that WS-15 would be ready in 2011-2012 which would rival PWF135 roughly in the same time frame.

China is usually conservative to make claim, keep in mind that WS-15 would be ready in 2011-2012 which would rival Pratt & Whitney F135 roughly in the same time frame.

I think you mean 2021-22 (even that's optimistic). If China can produce F-35 engines, in a year or 2, India should just declare unconditional surrender (neither will happen).

WS-15 would be ready for 2011-2012, it has the afterburner thrust of over 180kn and PWF135 is about 191kn.

For now China has mastered to build 4++ military jet engine. The 5th gen's one would likely be ready in the next 2 years.

What China's 5th gen jet engine has anything to do with India?

Today's Russia is poor and don't have much money to make development research. China on the other hand, is a totally different story, she has far more skilled enginners and money to make thing true.

Russia also wants to make a name for herself in the supercomputing domain, but simply don't have as much of power as China.
